Why must I shut the game completely down to get back to the login screen to change characters or whatever I may want to do.
It's seems pretty lazy on the devs part to allow this, it's inefficient to say the least.
It may seem minuscule to some but to me it's just one of those little things that I feel are lame.
Flame on.

I know this is just your third post here, but Im not sure why you feel you need to insult the devs to talk about this? Maybe you have played other mmorpg's where the devs dont listen to players or something. These devs do read the forums though, so I think you should be nicer.

Jim McGregor of Clan McGregor has it right: be nice.
This said, logging off a character and returning to the selection screen should be an option. Pretty please. - Got grief?

There is a good reason, to do with security if I recall correctly. What other MMORPGs allow character selection without logging off and logging back in again? Mainstream ones don't allow you to, that's for sure.

TBH, I'd say WoW is rather mainstream/popular, even if it does suck compared to this game.
I would appreciate that being able to swap characters without logging in/out.

Most of the MMO's I played allowed you to log out to the character select screen, EQII, CoH/CoV, WoW, EQI, AC, Heck even Vanguard does. I think the only I ever played that dint was DAoC besides EvE.

The game has been out for what 3+ years? This function should have been part of development not an option that would be thought about and not implemented.
BTW, my post count has absolutely nothing to do with anything thanks.

Thats not why. The OP is right. There used to be a bug that caused client crashes when going back to the character select screen. They tried for a while to fix it and then decided it would be easier to just remove the button. Almost all MMORPGs let you return to the character select screen without exiting the client. World of warcraft and city of heroes for example.
You're 2 for 2 so far. If you don't know the answer it's ok to admit it, realy.
Edit: Fixed a typo.
