I already submitted this as a bugg report from the client but i am going to post it here nonetheless.
Today Dec 8 after the Frostline patch
whenever i take armor damage the game client freezes up and after a few seconds it crashes to desktop with the error message
CCP.exefile stopped working
after i relogged me ship had taken 50% armor damage and i could keep on taking armor damage with out immediately crashing.
after repairing my armor or or shield recovering due to warp out after crash, taking armor damage will crash game again in same way as before freezing crashing error message saying CCP.exe file stopped working.
this nearly cost me my ship twice before i discovered what caused it, i also tested it with the turret missle and effects turned off and still reproduced the crash.
i hope this problem is something miner that can be fixed fast it is severely
impeding me from playing the game.
i run eve on my laptop

I am getting exactly the same thing, but for me it happens with just shield damage. Crashed 3 times yesterday doing C3 sleeper sites. I think the issue might be related to one of the new combat effects, however after the 3rd time I almost lost my ship, so I stopped trying to work it out.
I have a similar spec system, but with a Radeon r9 290 GFX card. |

just happened to me again this time immediately from getting shield damage
and after logging in sustaining damage for more then 4 -5 seconds will crash the game again and gives me the error CCP.exeFile stopped working
guess i wont be enjoying eve for a while. |

Was also happening to one of my corp mates.
By any chance are you using the 15.20 catalyst driver? |

Just crashed again after updating to 15.30, so that doesn't solve the problem either. |

got latest driver for my card which is the nvidia geforce GT 640M
this crash is bothering me alot as i am losing time that i payed for
i tried everything i can to get this to work |

hum I was thinking "ATI driver for the lulz" once again but there is some people with issue on nvidia, things got serious suddenly
but this will still be fun...
did any of you ran "rescache" ? (rescache is small program to be found in the eve folder, and DON't launch it while the game or launcher is running)
alternatively, when using beta launcher it's in the general/sharedcache settings, and "verify" button. does the same thing, with a progress bar.
if there is missing/corrupted files (thin client and no full download, combined with old launcher, combined with new resource data for new graphical FX, etc... dunno, life on the webz for an 16GB app) the rescache will fix stuff by downloading missing files
the fun stuff:
- you may have thousand of missing files
- there are issues with CDN used by CCP to host files for the client (lots of post about that in this forum)
- fixing your crash issue may have you waiting for data until Christmas (or not... if you don't have a stupid isp, russian roulette level)

Ptach note 1.2 today has some fix that may have fixed lots of issues
as for 44.000, they may have been partial ones, thin client, streaming, on demand. if you never crossed a titan in your life, you would never had the mesh data in your data files, or an outpost, or the bitmap texture of a lava planet, who knows. no one does. full download fix that. |

i downloaded all the 44000 missing files updated my drivers yesterday and got todays patch
so far i have not encountered this issue
but i will keep monitoring see if i spot anything odd
i would like to thank everybody for their help

Has anyone had this issue lately. I've been having it at combat sites. Can't find a fix. Ran repair tools. Driver is updated as of today 01/08/2016. Heat is not a problem. Happens when the armor/hull is taking damage and the effects start to show. |

Try turning off all the effects as this has resolved my crashing .... just makes the game look a bit crap :)
if this fixes it the turn them back on hit F12 and submit and in game bug report otherwise CCP will never fit all these crash issues. |
