Well ofc im talking about the lottery. There is no way that they can be proved that these are NOT a scam yet countless people do it or maybe im wrong. Anyway I hope to get answer or clarification of my own thoughts atleast.
O.K. so the the person who organises a lottery could just name some alt or some of there freinds as the person(s) who won it (or there friends alt to be safe of not getting found out).
I mean when a new player first joins EVE he is advised not to trust anyone he doesn't know ect, but these same people who do the telling(well some of them) do these lotterys.
It would be great If I could get some comments from people who do and don't play the lotterys and let us know why they feel safe/don't feel(i.e. not get scammed) safe doing them.
Am I missing something or is it just me because I am a suspicious bastard when all said and done.
I do believe that some of the lotterys are not a scam but how can you really tell if your not friends of the people that organise it, unless you win ofc .
IMO I think the majority are scams can anyone prove/disprove this some how ?

The lotteries I have seen tend to use one of the balls from a state powerball or lottery. That is about as fair as it gets.

Ah see this inspires me with a bit of hope atlwast if you get scammed you would know because the person who should of won would come bleeting to the forums. But I don't like the idea of
*right chap and chapettes give me your money then ill think of a number between 1 and a 1000 if you get it right ill tell ya * which essentially that is what some of them boil down to.

interestingly I saw a lottery in one of the event forums that went on a real life lottery. You paid your 2.5 million for a number between 1 and 49, and you get a tier2 battleship if you win. The winning number is the first ball drawn.
Explain to me how to fake that? (other than just running with the cash, which isn't going to happen with well known eve-iens.) RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!!!

Yes I agree nothing wrong with your example id put my cash into that but most of the lotters are not like that they require you to trust them, which is quite ironic really as one of the most spouted poeces of advise given out to newbs is trust no-one !
Your example is more than fine its the majority im talking about. So im not saying ALL are fake, maybe I didnt make myself clear in the original post.
