Greetings fellow citizens of New Eden!
Today is a day for much rejoicing. I, Quentin Jorinson, have been elected as the new representative of High-Security space policies.
While there are many duties to attend to, my first act was to overturn the so-called "laws of highsec" by the mercenary group known as the CODE. While there are still a few rare CODE rebels floating around, rest assured that a majority of the group is now inactive.
Occasionally these few upstarts may attempt to persuade you to purchase one of their "permits" for a mere 10 million ISK. As the CODE's laws of highsec have been overturned, these permits are no longer necessary. Mining will be safe again for our newer citizens.
Now, occasionally you will also see some of the leftover members posting their rhetoric in chat. Please do not be discouraged. They are, as I've stated, mostly inactive, and are using "fear tactics" to keep you in your station. While from time to time you may be attacked by one of these fringe holdouts, rest assured that they have neither the finances nor ability to do it more than once. CONCORD's justice will be dealt swiftly and surely.
If you encounter a former CODE member speaking in one of the communication hubs, please politely ask them to get a glass of water, remain seated, and calm down. Tell them, as politely as possible, to contact my office and I will assist them during this emotional time.
Thank you for your support. I look forward to making High-Security space a peaceful place for our newer citizens. Happy flying! |

To enlighten everyone further:
CODE's "laws of highsec" have been overturned. We do not need to "enforce" anything because there's nothing to enforce. On the odd (and rare) chance that a CODE member assaults a miner in high-security space, CONDORD will deal with them.
Please schedule an appointment with my office for further information, or to file a formal complaint. Until then, please have a glass of water, take a seat, and calm down. |

That's about what I was thinking for a good red beans and rice recipe. The problem with op's assumption here is that just adding the rum to the beans in the crockpot will be enough to impart that sweet carribean zing to them. I think adding a splash or three to the overnight soak is minimum for getting to that voodoo in a pot taste.
I don't have any basil or bayleaf. Do you guys think that might be why my RB&R is coming out with a bland water taste to it? Maybe chicken broth or boullion in the slow cooker instead of water will get me there.
A good andouille sausage from Seigi's definately helps me, but what's the point if the beans don't punch above their weight?
Edit: If OP doesn't want to talk about in game stuff, then why should we? |

As a young chap I once saved enough cool-aid points from the backs of cool-aid packs to score a secret en-code-r ring. Me and my brother used it to send 'secret' messages all the time. No one knew what we was saying, unless they had a a decrypt-o-ring book. The original post reminds me of what it was like to lose the book. Exciting times we live in these days. And how they remind me of when i was 6. I miss being six and hope the OP keeps giving us hints as to what it was like. Ahh the memories.

I mined for many months when I first joined. I think I got my hulk for about a month before I quit mining for good. Then I got hooked on hauling and made 70bil or so at PushX before getting into ganking. Now I have too much ISK and not enough targets. |

As a player that just re-subbed i see what the guy at the start of this post means in a way , code numbers do seem very low .
I know many of you hate Code and Goon gankers and their lap dogs but they did fly by an honourable set of rules in their eyes, I have read minerbumping and enjoyed the storys, that i'm sad to say has changed, after stopping a freighter getting ganked last night, i went around telling local channels in my op area of a ganker fleet looking for targets , thats when personal insults started which was a 1st. Insults aimed at my Character are ok, after all I am anti code and very much anti goon from my early days in eve back in 2006 ( or when ever the goon first arrived )
So James 315 put your house in order don't let desperation and despair taint what was eve content
Remember Eve is about fun
All the best Sonne7
PS yes i'm in a npc corp before any code member picks me up for that , we all use eve rules the best way we can and for this character an npc corp is the best place to be, gank me if you feel that strongly about it, your all -10 anyway |

I think I got my hulk for about a month before I quit mining for good. Then I got hooked on hauling and made 70bil or so at PushX before getting into ganking. Now I have too much ISK and not enough targets. Try Living in AU TZ.
Mining can't be good for you guys.
I know in the past some of the belts had been mined out a few hours after DT.
I guess it makes those on the AU TZ that mine, scavenger miners. |

I am ashamed to say with these three weeks of constant studying for this test to go, I have been reduced to mining in my Procurer. Yes, I know...a horrible fate indeed.
It would be unfair to devote such little attention to what I usually do since this test is so important. You see, if I pass it, I become certified in my career field and make more money. And with wife aggro constantly over my shoulder, I must buckle down and bash this book against my face until the osmosis takes over and imparts its wisdom upon me. While doing so, I can do basic mining while learning about enteric pathogens and viruses, plus all of the pathogenic bacteria out there.
The good thing about it is I have made three of the Endurance Ice Frigates and they should be done here in a few hours. Kinda excited about that....wait....where was I going with this?
Oh...nowhere. Like this thread...glad I stayed on task.

Lol, or idiots.
you are right about the belts though, was annoying to get to a belt B4 DT and only have scordite or the lowest ore there everything else stripped clean. - that was 6-7 years ago, still got the hulk!
Only time i mine now is in a procurer with a point, trying to bait WH' people, but rarely works, i end up with ABC's by default :|
We took a roam to Syndicate the other night (AU TZ), once we got a few jumps in past PF- we didnt see anyone in local for 7-8 jumps straight.
The lack of targets in our TZ is a thing.

I mean even the anti-gankers who constantly fail non-stop daily at every occasion if they are not busy poisoning everyone with their toxic comments, even they do more than people like the OP or that Xex guy. Basically we have only wannabe heroes, forum warriors and idiots as enemies, since the real players obviously get what we are all about and are ok with it or don't care.
So if you are a miner, look at the OPs killboard (there is none), now look at mine (it's full of dead miners), now look at the OPs killboard again (still none). This guy is your line of defense, he is an NPC forum alt, I await your permit request

As you can see, the four-point system for eliminating the final traces of CODE rebels has a successful start.
In defense of CODE, I'll state this: we, too, hate the idea of AFK miners milking all the resources out of high-security space. We, too, encourage players to learn as much as they can about defending themselves in space. The original concept behind CODE, as we've read, seems to be something wonderful. Unfortunately, a few unsavory members have translated the CODE to mean "suicide-gank a newbie in a venture, even though he's not AFK, unless he pays you 10 mil... which he doesn't have". The newer, less enlightened CODE members have become nothing akin to CODE's original intent (from what we can interpret).
The first step was acknowledging that CODE is irrelevant. To address some of the more volatile comments, I'll respond as thus, without my beloved RP (which I'll add in later)
1. "WE ALL WISH FOR NOTHING MORE THAT YOU CHILDREN FINALLY STEP OUT OF YOUR IMAGINATIONLAND AND START SHOOTING US ! HUNTING US! DO SOMETHING, DAMMIT, BUT STOP SHITPOSTING !"
I'm well aware of how CODE's understanding of the game mechanics, especially as they apply to High-Security space, allows them a bit of safety. When your enemy flies in High-sec, it's not quite that easy to simply shoot at them without a wardec (unless we also want CONCORD bearing down on us). CODE uses the safety of CONCORD as much as anyone else. The key to battling against CODE is preemptive striking, using similar (yet not the same) tactics they use themselves. The goal is to fire upon (and destroy) CODE ships before they hit miners, not after. But, with the threat of CONCORD, if we simply attacked CODE we'd be playing their game, not ours. And the whole point of shutting down CODE is to stop playing their game, and bring them into ours. This has forced us to think of creative ways to use the in-game mechanics ourselves, to give us the advantage.
2. "Concord has killed more CODE. members than anyone"
This is true, and will most likely continue to be the case. But that doesn't mean that we won't be striking at them as well. The few kill board posts that CODE members will link/spam in chat and on the forums will not highlight these losses. In addition, space is quite large, and CODE is larger (and more well-funded) than we are at the moment. So, our impact may be small at the start, but with a little luck and a lot of planning, the community should see a definite shift.
3. "Oh. So five posts in and you're ready to continue doing nothing. Great."
As any Vet should attest, EVE is not a world of instant gratification. To imply that the last remnants of CODE will be swept under the rug in a matter of minutes is unreasonable. EVE isn't checkers, it's chess. Since I appreciate the desires for this situation to be dealt with overnight, feel free to message me and I'll explain how you, too, can take action and assist the cause. But, if you wish to remain out of it, I won't begrudge you that either; many people opt to turn a blind eye rather than deal with CODE.
4. "When your killboard presence exceeds that of CODE. I may consider accepting your authority in this matter. CODE. at least backs up their words with action, so if nothing else they have more credibility than you do."
While we may have not destroyed as many ships as CODE, we also have not lost as many ships. This will play an important role in the task at hand. Browsing the killboard, we have begun contacting the individuals whose ships have fallen prey to CODE, and we have made a startling discovery; many (not a majority, but enough to make a difference) of the ships lost belong to CODE alts, to hype up their scams. At first, we couldn't understand it and it didn't make sense, because who would blow up their own ships to make a point? Well... that's CODE's M.O.: blowing up their own ships to make a point.
4. "So James 315 put your house in order don't let desperation and despair taint what was eve content"
This is the core of what we believe in. At one point, even we could be supportive of what James 315 originally intended. Sadly, his vision has fallen to the wayside. If he refuses to hold his people accountable, we shall do it for him.
and finally,
5. "You are posting from an alt to avoid tainting your main. You skulk in the safety of an NPC corp, surrounded by cyno alts, new players and witless cowards."
Yes.
Saying CODE was taken down by the Goons wouldn't be a big deal. But saying CODE was taken down by an alt, skulking in the safety of an NPC corp surrounded by cyno alts, new players, and witless cowards... THAT will be a legendary EVE story. And I'm looking forward to it.

1. Most of code(the ones who matter and are ganking, that is) is -10.0. It appears that you dont know the Game Mechanics of Eve, either.
2. Your impact is non-existant.
3. Its been 3 days. Lets see how much Code has killed, versus how much you have.
4. Code lose their ships from ganking frieghters/mining barges. If youre counting the ships that code lost to ganks, then its only fair to count the ships that were killed by code, as your ships. In which case, yes, you have lost far far more than code ever has.
4. What do you mean by "Hold accountable". Theyre doing nothing different from what they did at the beginning. Also, lrn2 count.
5. No. First off, Code hasnt been taken down yet, so as it stands, youre just a coward. Secondly, IF(And thats a big if) code gets taken down, no one will consider your "Alt" as the one who is responsible for taking down Code. That honour will go to the people who are actually fighting code and end up on the killmails, and not to the alts that are anonymously posting in forums.
Also, are you implying that youre goon? |

Quentin Jorinson wrote:As you can see, the four-point system for eliminating the final traces of CODE rebels has a successful start.
Made enough ISK that I procured the BPOs of said ships, fully researched them, made copies, and brought them out to the regions where I know they like to hunt and built more....
Seriously, I lost count at 300 ventures and 60 retrievers. That was a little over 10 months ago. Don't forget the modules and the mining upgrades that they go for instead of making them a little more tanky and anti-gank..... |

So sorry, but you're NOT gonna stop Code. The "balance" of high security systems is a power that belongs only to CCP. Logically, if they wanted to fix it, they would have. Those who gank there way down to -10 know the blanket of protection every time they dock in a "HIGH SECURITY" system like a serial killer in a doughnut shop full of cops. They can and will enjoy their chosen activities in low sec as well, quite unlike so many players of a different class, or style. And if they want to repair their Concord status, they can buy that anytime, like the rest of us. Point is, without making any assuming claims to the CCP position on the matter, this so-called "balance" is not up to us. |

Or you could just teach miners to fly a skiff with a proper tank.
Really... The gankers go only after easy targets. I complained that burn Jita was not a "kill everything that moves" but a boring "let's kille anything that nets is a profit".
Same withe code. They see a fleet with 10 skiffs in an ice belt and they will scurry somewhere else.
They are lazy and cowards. They will only kill targets worth more than what they will lose.
Not willing to man up and gank in battleships.

You won't get enough cycles off to pop them all before the target dies. Worse... you will not reliably get all bombs to ignite at once.
Someone correct me please if this has improved yet. Last time I read about it, disco in highsec is bugged thanks to CONCORD and heavy math.

You are correct.
What all of these angry miners fail to realize is that the fight started long before the gankers landed on grid, and once the catalysts have landed in optimal range - the fight is already over.
Of course, this can be totally mitigated by watching local, using the directional scanner, and displaying even the faintest hint of tactical awareness, skills that the average highsec miner does not possess.
