Many areas of 0.0 have true security values similar to -0.36749.
While a small number of clusters have values similar to -0.00291 (which I tend to call double zeroes).
Now I always thought the double zeroes had the best rats & roids - due to the fact that the clusters are few in number and far from empire gateways - but recently when looking for rats in such a cluster the spawns were very poor.
So guys which is the best true security?

Which one is lower, -0.8 or -0.08? It's very simple math...

Edited by: AGENT KW on 14/01/2007 13:31:42 If u want to use maths then the scale would be:
POSITIVE +1 (Jita)--> 0.0 --> -1 NEGATIVE
Thus Jita would be worst system, and minus one would be the best system to rat in.
Following this logic, -0.008 would be crap & -0.9 uber
Double zero systems are scarce and located in deep 0.0. Therefore your maths argument is back to front.
Was hoping for a reply from someone who knew what they were talking about.

Lets see...
1) Jita is the crappiest system in EVE. 2) Thanks to rounding in EVE there's few 0.00something systems that get rounded to 0.1 thus making them a bad place to pirate in. 3) I've made a Deklein regional map for my personal use, I can assure you no 0.00somethings were nowhere near the really good systems. 4) Further proof: Mercoxit which at least used to be the highest profiting ore can be found only from systems with security status of -0.75 or below all the way down to -1.0. This is of course coupled with the fact that in those systems 3* Usurper (1.85M Guristas bs npc) spawns are more common than 4*650k battlecruisers. 5) I made a quick billion (the one with nine zeros) by staying in a -0.7truesec system after personally observing the behaviour of spawn rates, spawn qualities and such in several systems ranged from -0.3 to -0.9 and then just selectively placed myself in a grinding position and shot the crap out of those mindless NPC:s. Boring but effective.
Do you even realize what .00 means? It's HALF OF WHAT A 0.1 IS OR CLOSER TO ZERO. EVE security rating goes from 1.0 to -1.0 where 1.0 means wonderful Veldspar and -1.0 the depths of Hell. The entire security rating system works in this fashion although personal standings and security status has an extra digit so that they're 10..-10.

Except that in the NPC 0.0 regions, which are only just below 0.0 and thus might seem at first glance to be crap, are the only regions that get officer spawns AFAIK. Also the belts can spawn rats that are best available in the most negative true sec 0.0 i.e. triple 1.8 mill BS are not unheard of. The roids are rubbish though. Stick to low-sec if you really want to mine hedbergite.

Rubbish you find officer spawns in all 0.0 regions regardless of having NPC stations or not.
Of course some regions are better than others for officer spawns...

FYI, WLF-D6 in Deklein/Venal is a true -1.0 system :) The evemap (the PDF one) shows it as -0.0 but that's a mistake. The multiple tripple 1.85m spawns and frequent dread / officer spawns say otherwise :) Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes - Devil ([email protected]) |

-1.0 systems also have a habit of spawning player rats that shoots anyone not blue to them.
And they are much harder to tank than officer rats. -------------------------------------------------- Yes I'm a forum alt, what you going to do about it? |
