So i see this
http://evenews24.com/2015/12/09/scandal-as-evil-at-work-fail-to-honour-rumble-charity-pledges/
Surprised its not being talked about. But the level of scamming this game attracts is just beyond funny anymore. Scamming in eve is the cancer thats slowly killing this game and yet CCP embraces it.
Scams like this is lower than low, this is just plain theft, nothing more. recently we even had the api scams. I dont get what goes through peoples mind to go to such lengths to steal in game currency. These scams, including, the double isk scams are blatant stealing there is no scamming its just out and out theft. We have also had people terrorise people purely to gain some in game isk. This is what CCP have promoted has part of the game. Sorry but its wrong.
Elaborate corp thefts even though im not purely ok with it, is something different, as really they already have access to the goods anyway, or part of the leaderships. I still dont think its right that one person can easily steal everyones isk, or goods or months of hard work just like that.
Scamming has actually gone far beyond double isk scams and the whole scamming just needs to be stopped, its not cool or funny and im actually after playing for many years thinking do i actually want to be a part of a community and pay money to an organisation that open allows this type of misery to be put on people. Im not sure i do anymore.
for those that will surely troll then its just make you as bad as the people im talking about, and i have no time to listen. For ccp that will no doubt close the thread with some excuse like ranting or whatever, it only shows you clearly feel guilty.
I have said my piece as it needs to be addressed, and a petition does absolutely nothing. I now need to wrestle with my conscience and either unsub or not

most scams rely on one thing.....That the "victim" thinks they are somehow screwing over the other guy.
They think they will get an item unbelievably cheap because, well, the other guy is too stupid to know the real price.
Doubling ISK......again, people think they are going to get something for free, and greed kicks in.
Many people have had that moment where they think they are getting the deal of the century, only to find they need to train reading skills to L1.

I think the mistake is to assume that the human species is in anyway moral at its core or that its morality increases as we advance in other ways.
It is also na+»ve to expect that someone should honor their promises without the enforcement of law when so many do not in the presence of the enforcement of law.
Player behavior in Eve is simply a reflection of what is in our societies that so often goes unseen by those with their heads above the clouds.
There is a huge difference between what is and what should be.

Here is the CZ article that was updated to include the other side after the initial article was similar to the EN24 one:
http://crossingzebras.com/eoc-tv-crumble/
Not as clear cut in terms of concluding it was a scam. More just mistakes/incompetence/over confidence it would seem.
As for scamming - It's absolutely impossible to do without a willing volunteer.

It's much like back when the U.S. had free speech and people would proudly state that while they disagree with what you say, they would defend your right to say it. In EVE I hate the lowlife scum that prey on noobs for pleasure and profit, but I fully support their right to do it.

Wow. Reading that article you would think those people actually stole real money from real charities like the Children's Hospital or Salvation Army or something.
The fact that people on both sides (the "benevolent philanthropists" and the "malevolent scammers") put this much time, consideration, planning and thought into a game (yes, that's right we are talking about a game here) is beyond my comprehension.

AUE's mediation service saved my marriage, cured polio and is 200% not a scam !
At first a was hesitant about his bold claims but then I thought " I can use his investigation service to find out if he's legit !".
I was completely relieved when his investigation confirmed that he in fact was legit!
Definitely recommend.

We do however need to make it clear that in the, end every sandbox has edges just the same as EVE has limits, and those limits are built on a basic level of empathy, understanding and humaine behavior.
