So, I recently hit the ol' -2.8 sec status, which has essentially cut me off from what I presumed were the main market centers of EVE.
This didn't feel good. With the loot obtained from pirating, I needed a place where I could sell them at a decent price, and not at -98% regional average. I setup at first in Abudan, but the prices weren't too great for buying or selling. And this seems to be the case across most low sec systems.
So, I'm putting out a request to all you vetern -10's who have been flying on the brink for most of their lives. What is the best place for a scoundral to buy and sell items? And by items I mean various things such as ship equipment, ships themselves, etc.
Summary: Where is EVE's Tortuga? ---

Hauler alt is the best way to go, sacrifice a few days training to get your alt in a hauler, then haul loot/supplies to and from market hubs. Ships can be harder just have to keep a close eye on the market and buy when you can.
There is no low sec market 'hub' afaik, people simply dont take the risk of hauling mins/goods through low-sec in general.

lol, he meant in roleplaying way, encouraging scoundrels to form a hub system and sell things each other. However both of you answered in the way of using alternate game mechanics. I am sure he is clever enough to realise that he can use an alt before coming here and asking on the forums.
Enders vaal, you can ask this to big pirate corps or pirate coalition alliance. Some of them may still be roleplaying...

it wont work because pirates destroy to make money, not build.
Its not that much of a hassle to send your alt 5-10 jumps to the nearest hub to get some stuff either.

True, I'm well aware of hauler alts, but it's really not something that appeals to me. Yeah, it is a minor detail, but I like to be able to fly around and pick up stuff without having to swap characters and such
And I find I make most of my money off of the dropped loot. When I kept my sec status higher, I was able to pawn off BS parts for a fair bit of cash that kept me going. But now, I think I'm running out of options.

A lowsec hub would never happen, on the first inklings that a hub was forming, pirates would camp the place out.
Just the knowledge that people will be hauling goods around in system who'll be easy pickings, would tempt anyone looking to make a quick bob or two in modules.

If you can cut it there, Amamake has a fair number of mission runners and sometimes, repeat: sometimes, can do some decent trading of ill-gotten loot there.
I used to occasionally.

I can't stand being below -2.0. It takes forever to go anywhere. I don't ever pop pods in empire anymore. Also, I pirate in cycles. I'll do it up for a few days but then I gotta rat up my sec status or I go nuts. I can go from -2.0 to +.5 in two days tops. Plus, it helps to pay for my pricey t2 ship habit. I like the people in lowsec better than the ones in highsec, but I don't like the cruddy market.

Just a thought, are there any pirate corps that pretty much "own" a route to 0.0 that would allow a trader to pay them a portion of the profit to haul items to their part of 0.0 space?

Quick note, when pirate forces tried to take Unity station from UK, we wanted to make it "Tortuga".

amamake was the system i was thinking off. plenty of stations, a fair few gates. getting in and out from low sec is pretty easy.

Amamake is 3 jumps from Rens.
You can use an alt to ferry stuff back and forth or you can just offer courier missions.
