Hate to be the one going against the chorus, but implementing salvage has meant a decrease in the normal loot to "make space" for the salvage.
This will happen now with all the ships and in all the missions?
And the speed of the salvaging operation will be increased?
Even with salvage 4 I often need multiple tries, and if I need to salvage 50 wrecks in every mission to get the same or less isk in return than before revelation, spending more time, I will be a bit upset.

Hello Fear.
I hope you bring loads of good changes to eve. Maybe with someone else on the team, Tux won't make such big design mistakes. Really listen to the few people on these boards that actually know what they are talking about, and ignore the whinning masses, it will make this game so much better.

I'm in full agreement as far as a rig class system goes...it's a bit silly to think that creating a rig to place on a frigate requires the same amount of materials as creating that same rig to be used on a dreadnaught. I don't mind the rig pricing as it is for battleship-scale rigs, 20-40 million per rig compared to the 100 mil or so for a battleship isn't bad. In my mind, the ideal price ratio would go something like this: Frigates: ~100K ISK Cruisers: ~1.5M ISK Battleships: ~30M ISK
This wouldn't be possible, of course, unless you altered the construction cost and drop rates considerably, but it would also open up rig usage to newer players and make rigs cheap enough to be much more viable in PvP and more accessable, skill and ISK wise, than T2 gear and perhaps help offset the advantage that older players have over newer ones by using them.
Then again, I'm a mission runner so my experience with the PvP-side of rig economics is very limited. Just my 2 cents.
Wow . I love this idea.
But the cruiser and frigate rigs should still be a bit expensive.. Such as
Frigates: 500k - 1mil per rig. Cruisers: 2 - 5mil per rig. BS - 15-30mil per rig.
That way Rigs will still be a somewhat special item and not "required" fitting.

Dear GM Fear (as was) CCP Fear (as is),
I dont post on the forums too often, but I would like to take the time to wish you all the best in your new role.
You will be greatly missed on the GM front by many I guess, but by me for certain. You dealt with people like me (who had a problem or two in game) with compassion and a very good attitude and most importantly always took the time to listen and update the situation.
I for one will miss your professionalism, may I wish you good luck for the future.
Best regards,
Isotobe

I'd also like to ask about the Armor Plates, which are not used in any rigs...why exactly are they dropped as salvage if not used? Dev response welcome!

Bump about the Armor Plates dropped as salvage--nothing in the patch notes seems to address them, so it would be good to know why they are being dropped if not used in any rigs...

Congrats on the promotion in workload.
I remember you back from your GM days (ok not that distant, now that I think about it) where you got stuck in a system along with myself and 17 other luckless space bums.
The whole node was locked down and even your mighty GM powers were no match and as such you or the other GM (now also snared and stuck) started spicing local up with links to scarcely clad young maidens.
I've got the caht log in my bio .)
Good to see you onboard and now we hope to see more neon signs of dames on our ships. Please resize image to a maximum of 400 x 120, not exceeding 24000 bytes, ta! If you would like further details please mail [email protected] - Deckard
