I am still pretty new to Eve, and recently started getting into making my own items and I read up on doing material research, and as I understand it, the more material research i do for a blueprint, then the less material it will take. So my question is this, I have been trying to find a station where I can do material research and every one I find has a 20+ day wait. Should I just give up searching for one I can get into right away and just wait?

ME slots are hard to find in empire. Consider a low sec slot or even ask someone with a POS **cough** /me **cough** to research it for you. theres currently no game mechanic (i know of) that will give you protection from scams so id stick with finding a free npc slot. NEVER give your bpc to someone you dont know as you might not get it back. Reputation means nothing cause some of the trusted people wil still knife you in the back for ISK or anything of value.
Quick advice thats actually helpfull will be to make a few copies (slots are more freely avail) and queue the bpo on a lab slot with a low finish time. use the copies to build with and take an early hit with a non researched bpo. when your ME eventually gets done the you can recoup your costs.
*note to ccp POS LABS available to public access PLZ.

There are various organisations that will sell you pre-researched BPOs, for a suitable premium. Check the sell orders forum. Alternatively, you can buy BPCs through the Contracts system, which are a smaller investment than a BPO and usually pre-researched.
If you want to build Thoraxes, for example, I have some BPCs I'm selling in Stacmon.

And ME5 is pretty much optimal for ships - more ME dos nto make thant that much better - you can always research later

I'm new and I want to have a go at ME but there is not slots available. Not for 15days minimum in the whole region.

You can simply queue your research up at the earliest available slot. It will start being researched after the job in the slot is finished.

Wow, thank you! I am new and thought if the slot didn't say FREE I was out of luck. I mistakenly thought it HAD to say free, and it bummed me out. Ya I will have to wait some but at least now I know I CAN research something. Woot!
