I don't remember since I've reactivated, but is there a way to turn this off so that your camera zoom stays the same after you jump?
Kind of irritating rezooming after every jump.
For more enjoyment and greater efficiency, consumption is being standardized. |

Beyond annoying. It's lethal.
After a jump, you have to waste almost your entire cloak time to reset the camera so that you CAN figure out if you're screwed or not, and then you don't have an time left to "fix" it.

For the love of God, I wish they would fix this. They used dev time to change the ship fitting screen when it did not appear to be a problem. I think they could probably have used that effort to fix this extremely annoying, though admittedly minor, problem Maxpie, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered |

It's annoying, but unlikely to get you killed.
I think if they ever do fix it I'll spend my time progressively zooming further out from my ship each jump until I adapt to the change. -

The ship fitting screen change was needed and requested long ago. Try fitting at a POS ship array the old way versus the new way. You'll be glad for the change.
I must of course agree with wshing the camera did not reset. It used to only reset when you docked. Since Kali it is now "broken". The code exists to make it not be broken ... someone go uncomment that function please. -AS |

Edited by: Damon Ra on 28/03/2007 17:55:13 Fix this CCP, it's been broken since the Revelations update in December. Seems a lot of the UI got broken then and more of it gets broken with every patch after that.
Many bug reports have been filed on this, please take some action.
Oh and it's not just that the camera gets reset on jumping, it is on every session change. Your cargo will also get reordered/rearranged every session change as a side effect of the same bug.

What helped me to at least not kill my mousewheel before its time, is to zoom out by holding both mousebuttons and moving the mouse instead of wheeling for 30 seconds.
but still, yes its annoying.

This actually almost got me killed, along with the overview shiptype changes.
sitting on a gate waiting for someone, 2 people not related happen to jump in. they are in a vaga and a crow. im a curse, but i do not know if they have more on other side. i jump.
on the other side, i see nothing on overview since elite frig was expanded to different types, so i do not see the 2 intys there. i am all zoomed in due to this bug. i decide i dont like my fit for fighting a vaga, and i try to warp to my pos in this system. i am suddenly warp scrammed by targets i did not know where there, and am caught completely flat footed.
this example was specific. the one time ccp changes the overview...they DONT delete you overview settings for the first time ever. but the zoom out time still costs you time....time during which the enemy can follow you through the gate....time which enemies on this side can get in better positions to wait for you to decloak.
its a small insignificant bug....but those can be the most annoying.

Can only agree with previous posters. When jumping, docking, undocking, etc.. let the camera stay as it is.
Extremely irritating.

This is a fix that 99% of the eve community supports (me included btw). I'm guessing that its not that hard of a fix to program but I'm also guessing that CCP is going to take half of forever to auctually do it. Go on ccp, prove m wrong......please? _______________________________ Idea stolen from DS:

Edited by: Par''Gellen on 29/03/2007 07:22:46 /signed. Most annoying thing that needs fixing in Eve at the present time. Originally by: Kodiak31415 This is a fix that 99% of the eve community supports (me included btw). It would be very simple to fix actually. Just store the camera zoom distance in the Eve\cache\Settings\char_xxxxxx.dat file and set the camera to that distance after each jump or undock. The camera already has a zoom distance variable obviously. Currently it's set to 0 after each jump. Setting it after each jump to a value that is pulled from and saved to the client's local .dat files would be utter simplicity. If it took more than 10 lines of code and more than 15 minutes to implement then I'd have to rethink the value of the coder doing the work... ---
