No, but I agree that knowing when to run away is the most valuable wisdom any pilot can hope for.
Unless you've really screwed up or been very unlucky (landing in the midst of a gang on warp in for example) you won't be scrambled yourself, so you can leave running away later than the first shield damage. _____________________________________________

Hmm - the Arazu's primary defense is its ability to dampen an enemy into the stone age. So I would turn tail if that fails.:)

Fof's need a target within lock range to fire I believe, therefore a ship with fof's cannot do anything with them if its lock range is too low. There was a thread about this somewhere.
Plus you could always test it yourself and come back with the answers.

If that is happening, this is a bug that needs fixing. Testing this.

Its not a bug I assure you. Its just the way fof's work. Missiles need a target within lock range to be able to fire. Same applies to fof's and it has always applied to them as far as I know. Works fine against jammers but against dampners they could be considered less effective.

I've foffed an Arazu before and I was well out of targetting range (Having a 7km lock range and all) Are you sure its only targets in lockrange and not the first target that aggro'ed you? -----

Originally by: Durethia I was shown the other day, that a Lachesis is pretty much invincible in a 1v1 against any ship or other Recon ship.
I'm even thinking of training up Covert Ops just to fly a Lachesis and *****all the Amarr Recon pilots who think they have it easy.
You can't win against a properly fit Lachesis 1v1.
Against a well skilled inty the proper fit to be 'pretty much invincible' would be what? I know there are many setups that will work if know you are going up against only an interceptor, it isnt too hard , but there is no fool proof setup against all comers...

The most fool proof set-up in ALL of warfare is the ability to pick your own battles.

Edited by: VJ Maverick on 05/02/2007 16:12:11 How much of a targeting delay is there on an Arazu, if any? I'm thinking of training for one but for now, i'm still flying Stealth Bombers.

It doesn't depends on the ship but on the cloaking device. 10 seconds -10% for every level of Cloaking ---

Originally by: Ander Arazu works great for 0.0 hauler ganks. See a hauler uncloak from a gate, simply do the same. Have 3x sensor booster II's fitted + as many warp scramblers you feel comfortable with.
I keep getting away from the Arazus who try to do this to me. Without a web, they are unable to keep me from spinning on my heel and burning for the gate I just came from. The first time I did that I was really pleased with myself; now I realize that it's just the miserable DPS of the Arazu.

Not true. Some ships have bonuses to the delay. My Manticore, for example, has practically ZERO delay, but according to what you say, I should have a 10 second delay. That's why I asked if the Arazu has a similar bonus.

I was referring to Recon ships which fit Covert Ops Cloaking devices, just like Covert Ops frigates do. Stealth bombers on the other hand has to fit either Prototype Cloaking Devices or Improved Cloakind Devices which have 30 and 20 seconds sensor recalibration time, respectively. I haven't found any ships with a bonus to sensor recalibration time so a stealth bombers should have a longer targeting delay than a covert ops or recon ships after deactivating cloak
For the record I have no first-hand experience with cloaking I can't use it yet, but that's how it should be according to the module and skill attributes, unless of course I missed something ---

near loes, with all the hauler macros, people would regularly assemble in lone battlecruisers to kill them. Just sit by, wait for aggro, scram, damp, loot!

I just checked QF and there are some bonuses for stealth ships that are not in the description, but since I have no idea what they do as they have obscure names I'll take your word on it considering that you're the one flying them and not me ---

On a completely unrelated note, the Arazu is not a ratting ship. Do not rat with the Arazu, regardless of how drunk you might be and whether or not you're leisurely talking with friends. Just because your armor indicator is a blur to you in your stupor does not mean that it isn't going down.
I'm not saying that I've done that recently. I'm just saying don't try it. Rats don't care about damps apparently. --
Mentis Obscura is recruiting... sort of. |
