Every ship I have seen has lights on it, interior lights, navigation lights, and exterior lighting.
When a ship's capacitor is drained, maybe the lights should go out, plunging the ship into darkness and showing everyone that it is dead in space!

Perhaps if the lights on said ship 'dimmed' based on the amount of capacitor energy they had left? I believe most of the 'porthole' type lights on ships are part of the texture so altering them on the fly wouldn't be very easily done.
It's true, I swear. |

They are there so pirates can see them coming in the dark.

actually the point that you can drain another ship is kind of stupid.. it would mean that the whole ship would shut off and just sit still there, waiting to get shot down... nothing would work if you could drain it and no a spare generator would just be drained as well, soo.... yer.. ___________________________________________

Ship lighting runs off powergrid, not cap.
A capacitor is for storing a large amount of electricity to be applied at short notice. Lights run all the time at a constant voltage, so they would be wired directly to the grid and bypass the capacitor.
