Hey folks,
I recently spoke with a COSMOS agent to see what it would entail to complete the mission for him and realized afterwards that I'm lacking in some skills to get it completed - plus I need time to gather some folks I know to assist.
I've VIEWED the mission only after speaking to the agent and have NOT accepted it. I just under 7 days it'll expire.
My question is this:
Can I let it expire or reject it WITHOUT losing my shot at the COSMOS mission? I'm only recently getting back into mission running so I'm not entirely sure what happens it I let a viewed (BUT not accepted) mission) expire or reject it.
Can anyone answer?

Unfortunately I think that's it. Don't talk to Cosmos agents at all until you think you're ready to do their missions. Often there's a hint of what's needed in the agent info, plus there are out of game resources you can use.
Don't let the mission expire though. If you can't do it, turn down the mission without accepting, otherwise you take standing loss with the agent's corp.

So if I let it expire I lose standing and never see the COSMOS mission again, and if I reject it I don't lose standing but still never see the COSMOS mission again.
Is that the way it is? Can anyone else confirm?

"Path to Enlightenment" is the mission.
Grrrrr! I COULD just wait and have my skills to hack in about 4 days from now...still leaving me 3 days until the mission would expire, so all hope ISN'T lost.
Then I can get a team together and run it, then the later part that needs Archaelogy wouldn't be a problem since I'll have that done in another 4 days after Hacking is done.
I just need to assemble the team, or find some folks in the area willing/able to help.
Yeah, I know I can purchase the Threaded Waypoint Map for the first part and then move forward...but I really want a chance to Hack and Analyze the deeper levels of the complex (Contested Gallente Skeleton Comet) and see what I get.
Hrm, time to ask some of my friends for help. :)

2 things:
1) some hacking and Archeology containers require skill level 3 to be accessible;
2) multiple episode regular missions or storylines have a total 7 day time to complete now, they don't reset after every episode.
I don't know if it is true for COSMOS missions, but don't stretch it too much. Try finding someone in loca doing it and form a gang now, you can get some information on the opposition and a shot to what you need. Most of the mission sites are complex you can run multiple times, not spawned for the mission.
BTW, you can need to run the sites multiple times, as there are playes farming them and the needed items have a low drop rate.

You can accept the mission when it is about to expire, this will give you additional 5 days to finish it.

Ask around in Deltole local for help or the items you need. Search contracts for items you need, or creat want to buy contracts for the item you need. The regulars in the COSMOS areas are usually helpful and willing to sell you needed items.
You don't have to do this all alone.
