I recently had someone accidentally sell a FN Mag Stab to my buy order for nearly 100M less than actual buy order. I wouldn't have noticed except they mailed me and I gave them the difference in the buy order price.
I now did this myself. I put a 49 instead of a 79 for the front value when selling a stack of 4 items. It immediately sold all 4 to the top buy order. Yes, I made a mistake, but why does the game not at WARN you that you are selling for less than the top buy order. I am out ~120M, which is very frustrating as that is still a decent amount of ISK for me.
I will of course be more careful in the future, but surprised the game even allows you to sell BELOW the top buy order. |

Thats why I asked for a warning. You know...in the same vein of a <50% regional average warning. One that you could disable if you so desire.
It makes less sense to have a warning about regional average than it does to have one about below the top buy order. Because I can think of times I have posted stuff that gave regional average warnings which I chose to ignore. I can never think of a legitimate situation where anyone would want to sell below the buy order.
A warning. That is all. CCP has already shown they are fine with warnings in their game regardless of how ruthless the game is. |

How about a catch all warning?
Don't play the market, if you cannot read and gather the relevant information first.

2 post now, and both were responding like an *******.
Warnings are for mistakes. Even if Ralph disagreed with me, at least he responded constructively. I guess they should remove all warnings from the game with your philosophy.

The EVE Universe will always be a little different with you around.
That's what EVE is all about and that's why I play EVE.
On a more business-oriented standpoint: you are given the freedom to sell an item for any price you choose. If nobody is already willing to pay that much, then the sell order will just sit around until it gets accepted or it expires. Just the same, if you elect to sell an item for less than it's worth, someone else who is willing to pay more will be the first to get it, but they'll still pay the amount you are selling it for. This is the same whether the transaction occurs immediately or the order sits on the market for a while.

If you need the system to monitor your every action to prevent you from making a mistake, ... well, I'll edit this post when I think of something that won't get snipped by ISD.

I also say no to your other bad idea, but would suggest another. CCP should ban NPC corp pilots, from posting ideas here.

Let's help this person find answers, not a wall of loathing for being inexperienced. Every one of us was inexperienced at EVE once, we all had our hard time getting the hang of understanding why it's good that the game is harsh.

because people edit sell orders more often than they do buy orders, and I don't want to have to click through endless "are you sure" popups whenever I feel like being a market **** and driving the price down for bots/people who don't check the item quantity.
Sure I bet there would be a checkmark saying "dont let me know in the future about my oblivious behaviour, intentional or not" but then we would just end up back here with someone saying there shouldn't even be a checkbox because they checked it off and made a bad mistake, and all sales should be double checked by the seller.
If you really feel it is that much of a problem, do everyone else the favor and..... use contracts? Longer process, more checking and are generally not watched by market hawks as assiduously.
*ed Anecdote: i have done this with stacks of zeros in a contract, selling bill for mill, and was able to catch myself 10 minutes later. takes longer to sell, but you also don't get trading margin'd.
Use the force without consent and the court wont acquit you even if you are a card carryin', robe wearin' Jedi.

How does the game know that you didn't want to sell at this price?
There are too many daft warnings in this game ...
If it bothers you, contact CCP, they'll more than likely refund you.

I thought there was a warning that warned you if you were selling an item that is either grossly above or below the regional average.
Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.

And even that gets in the way.
I dislike handholding mechanics in general, but what you are asking OP is for the game to stop you from selling an item at the price you WANTED to sell it at...This goes beyond handholding and to a point where you could argue the game is making decisions for you.
No thanks.
