What I really want to see is some sort of personal sorting system similar to Corp hangers, I want to have tabs/sections in my hangers that allow me to store containers for organizational purposes. Some players that do manufacturing have so many containers that even with alpha sorting it can still be a hassle.
Why can't a Station container, capable of holding 1Mil M^3 of cargo, hold a small secure container?
If station containers were the ONLY exception of stacking containers inside containers, this would solve this problem in a somewhat crude way.
It would also be nice to allow players to manufacture out of a designated minerals container, rather than moving mins out and back each production run. If there were tabs/sections, this would be bypassed all minerals/prints could have their own tag.
Now... heres the twist... Sectioned hangers COST. say 1-5m per Tab, or even a progressive cost system. Hell, it's just another money sink, but those that want it... WILL pay for it.

I don't like the idea of making players pay for additional hangar tabs...that reminds me way too much of having to purchase larger backpacks in WoW, in my opinion, and it kind of rips off new players who don't have 5 mil to spare just to organize their stuff and will definately give them a feeling that they're being unreasonably punished for it. Aside from that it seems like a good idea though.
It's true, I swear. |

For the new player there are always station containers that are a measly 19k...
This does not punish anyone, just allows for the more advanced players with 200x more stuff to organize, the opportunity to do so... and allows for a ISK sink to offset the growing inflation.
Adding this can also be done by adding a new skill set "Facilities Management" will allow players to buy a new skill and train up to use the tabs...

I am gonna have to agree with the last post.
use cans and name them
I have 10 or 11 cans in my hangar (station container)
I can have as many as i like
I name them as follows:
Ammo Slot 1 Slot 2 Slot 3 Skillbooks Blueprints Laser Charges Ships Drones Minerals Other
And i think theres another one.
I have found this is very very effective. Please use my idea if you like it.

The station cans work for most situations and players, but ultamately for the players that have many things happening at once, (for example: Manufacturing) having 50-60 station containers to work from at once can be overwhelming, then needing to move minerals into the mix JUST to start a manufacturing run can be a pain...
But with sectioned hangers you can keep 5-6 cans in a given space to work from as you need, or shift to a different section ... you get the drift.

Yeah, it's a real drag having to move blueprints and minerals out of cans and into the main hangar to build stuff. 0.0 stations don't have station containers, so I'm out of luck there and have to use GSCs, which are grossly inadequate for ammo, much less minerals.

Wel, is it really such a problem to allow management in hangar by allowing players to create/rename tabs? Please consider on it)) that would be helpfull tested on humans (c) |

i see your point but why not folders instead of tabs. why does everything have to be tabs?
r click create container (unsellable but transferable).
And if your gonna be using these containers you should have the option of creating manufacturing runs straight from the container and selecting where you want your minerals from and where to return the bpo/c after use if there is one (default would be same container it came from). Plus i also think these containers should be browseable by other corp mates when they have the security officer role, still not allowed to take from others hangars but allowed to browse... or at least be able to set people you want to browse your cans/containers (in station)

Folders are a windows-ism, Tabs represent sections of a hanger.
Also, Tabs are already currently in use for Corporate hangers.
You seem to be seeing this as a corporate issue, I'm bringing up this as a player issue.

Better idea, but to solve the same issue. Make a Bluprint for station containers, freight containers, and all the other containers. Of course the station warehaouse would take so much tritanium you wouldn't want to do it unless YOU REALLY WANTED TO DO IT!! This would solve the problem for 0.0 hangars lagging the client for 30 minutes everytime the character opens his/her hangar. FFS, do we REALLY have to have 50 GSC's to organize everything to smaller amounts so that the client doesn't lag you back to the stone age? Seriously, what year is it again in the game roleplay?
