Alright, I've been running missions for some time now, and for even longer my internet has been a complete POS (hint; not a player owned starbase).
Sometimes I'll get to the last room of 5 or so in a mission, and then I'll disconnect.
So then I end up spending the next 15-20 min in a slow ass ship (can't mwd either lol..)
trying to get back where I was before I got disconnected.
Sometimes I'll even get disconnected again before I'm back to where I was from the first disconnection..
It seems that sometimes when i disconnect it will warp me to where I really was, but I'm not really sure how that works, and it doesn't happen often.
Please, please, please, please let me get back to where ever I got disconnected from in a mission so I don't spend so much time looking at my ship travel 136 m/s.

Have you talked to your ISP? If I were you, I wouldn't pay for that kind of bullsh*t.

will my view is DON'T PUT GATES 100km from the freaking entrence of a mission, it is unberable to look at time and time again in a bs... atleast let us warp those 100km if there isn't any rats around :S
edit: the same goes for looting missions..
ps: when is large tractor beams comming out? i mean they couldn't figure out how to make them in a bigger sieze?!

I had this same problem a few months ago, and after a few phone calls and weeks they finally fixed it.. and then about 3 weeks after that it went back to how it is, and now I can't even get hold of their customer service.

Seems like you need to switch ISP's or go postal on the one you have.
Either way, I still agree the distance between gates can be slightly ridiculous on some missions and flying 100km with a battleship to kill everything and then again with a hauler to loot doesn't seem worth it.
