Hi all,
Someone pointed out the usefullness of autolinking text. I know it works great in chat but I want to use it for notes, mostly for things I do not yet own so I can keep track of the stats without having to go to the market all the time.
I have noticed a problem with it in notes; lets say I create a new note called "Ships" and put this entry in and auto link it:
Rifter
It creates a link to the rifter so all I have to do is click the link. Now if I add any more notes to this same one, everything else I type ends up being an autolink. Automatically. What's worse, everything that is typed in this note ends up being linked to that rifter.
I have found no way around this, I have tried moving the text around and formatting every possible way but not matter what I do it appears that within a note you can only have one autolink.
Am I missing something here?

Adequate ENTER keys before and after the link item prior to linking.
----- n-1. ??? n. Profit!

Hi
If you link the last entry in a text, all text written after you have linked it will be included in the last link. The solution is to insert some dummy text in the end of the note, that way you will have something that separates the last link and the end of the document. My explanation is a bit fuzzy but I hope you get the idea.

Thanks,
I have tried this, as well as the previous posters suggestion about adequate enter keys; no matter what, if I have autolinked text anywhere in a note, it will make any subsequent text entry part of that same link. i.e. as soon as I start typing it makes it yellow and unerlined.
Here is an example. Lets say I make a note called "Frigates" and I put in this entry :
Punisher
Than I auto link it and it looks like this:
Punisher
Now I can go anywhere else in the note, hit enter until I am blue in the face and type something and it will look like this:
Punisher
Some Random Text
See what I mean? Even if I have paragraphs worth of space inbetween Punisher and Some Random Text, the Some Random Text ends up being linked to the Punisher information.

Edited by: Dread Operative on 17/01/2007 19:47:45 Dummy text first then link.
I.E.
Note: ---- Rifter
dummy text
Then link the rifter Start the text that you want after the link in the dummy text area.

Ok I will try that...but it sounds like once you link something in a note, its hosed from that point on and there is no way to link more than one word.
