It is hard to judge the strength of a corporation or alliance based on a singular encounter. It is common practice for people to research a target as much as possible before allowing an engagement to take place. You want as much information as possible. What ships do they fly? Do they use overwhelming numbers? Do they like to cyno in caps? What raceGÇÖs do they mostly use?
These tid-bits of information can turn the tides of battle, yet so many still go all in unprepared. The dark fourth Dimension did just this on 11/08/11. A single adjoining wormhole connecting them to J151530, newly found home of 4u Holdings, seemed like a easy target. The intelligence would have told The dark fourth Dimension that 4u Holdings recently took J151530 by force from the previous inhabitants. The kill boards would have said that 4u Holdings had deployed a carrier and a dread with battleships to drop the tower.
Some heated words back and forth between members of both sides escalated into threats of full on system siege. The dark fourth Dimension, completely unaware of the fact that they were picking a fight in the home system of 4u Holdings during what could be considered a NON Peek time was quickly signing their own death warrant.
Anyone can make mistakes. Some are small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Others, however, can be huge and possibly cost you greatly. The dark fourth Dimension, when faced with the option of bringing any number of countless capitals through on what would be a full on system siege chose to take two dreads. No doubt they felt that the two dreads would make quick work of the towers and they could be done with this. So they sent in several battleships, three basilisks, two dreads, and a hand full of other ships collapsing their retreat on the way in. They were committed.
The dreads made short work of a small Amarr tower that had been set up as a temporary housing POS. With the re-enforce timer running on the tower they move on to a large Gallente tower. This tower had a few sparse defenses as it had not yet been completed. The weapons on the tower were quickly dispatched and the towers re-enforce timer began. The last tower posed a more serious problem.
Since the last tower was the GÇ£home baseGÇ¥ it was well defended. The dark fourth Dimension had spent so much time running their mouths and working the two non-essential towers that they were leaking out of their own peek hours and into 4u Holdings peek time zone. This of course meant log outs for The dark fourth Dimension and log ins for 4u Holdings.
Being cautious The dark fourth Dimension sends both of their PhoenixGÇÖs to the last remaining tower while holding back the few pilots that remain online. The two dreads quickly drop the one online warp disruptor while tanking the towers DPS. With a single basilisk from 4u Holdings repping the tower for annoyance factor the decision is made to bring in some of the other combat ships. A broadsword lands on the tower and begins to chase the basilisk around. The pilot is cautious and every attempt made by the broadsword ends in failure as the basilisk is skirting the POSGÇÖs shield and just ducks back in when it gets close.
These run and gun annoyance tactics start to pick up as more pilots log in. Before long two basilisks are roving the POS shield while IskurGÇÖs and Slipnir are picking off the drones of the dreads. It becomes apparent that despite the large bonus to capacitor recharge time the two PhoenixGÇÖs are quickly running out of cap. 4u brings in a curse and begins to make this problem worse. When the dreads align to leave the engagement a carefully planned point holds one of the two ships in place. This allows the POS guns to focus all remaining DPS on the one target. The trap has been sprung.
4u Holdings jumps on the remaining dread fully aware of its crippled capacitor. The realization of situation comes to the ships pilot as the MoroGÇÖs lands near him and his shield alarms begin to sound. The constant barrage of the tower guns and the 800+ DPS command ship and the Moros blasters punching holes in his shield prompts him to begin screaming in audio for help. The remaining ships warp in at 70km on the dread. Two basilisk and a Maelstrom. The Maelstrom lets a volley loose and one shots the Curse, but the damage is done already and the dread WILL go down without further assistance. 4u Holdings was already prepared with redundancies.
A falcon jams up one of the basilisks and a Arazu holds point on the dread while range damping the other basilisk. The two logistic ships are neutralized and The dark fourth Dimension has exposed them to the massive point range of the Arazu. The dread goes down to the massive guns of the Moros. The back up fleet aligns to warp out but it is to late for the Maelstrom. The Arazu has closed range and lands a point on the battleship as the other ships warp out. 4u begins to work on the Maelstrom.
The Basilisk warp in on the Maelstrom again at 70km however it is to late as they are jammed up and damped before they can even attempt to save him. The Arazu burns the MWD and overheats a disruptor and lands point on one of the Basilisk. The Maelstrom goes down and the 4u Fleet attack and destroy the Basilisk as well.
In the carnage of the fight at some point the Phoenix pilot had logged out in hopes to save his ship. This of course means that his pod instantly warped out when the ship popped. Some months later when The dark fourth Dimension attempted to flee from the now fortified system that pilot logged in to find his pod smack in the middle of a T2 medium warp bubbleGǪ Placed their just for him. The pilot died in a fire despite his plea in local to be ransomed. His corpmates however managed to flee the system without a single word uttered. Leaving the stench of failure in their wake.

Nice read, good to see people taking the time and effort to do write ups that are well structured and make grammatical sense.
Blob-fests are not the only battles in EVE and its nice to see relatively smaller victories trumpeted.
