I was thinking around... i wonder what it would be like to make a ship based around rigs, using them for their ship bonuses... so... here is my idea
Prototype Frigate Requires Jury Rigging 5 Advanced Spaceship Command 1 Every level of advanced spaceship command: 10% less drawback on rigs (at level 5 in ASC and specific rigging, no drawback) 5% increase in base speed
450 shield, 450 armor (standard generic resistances) 240 m/s velocity
4 high slots (4 missle/4 turret) 3 mid slots 3 low slots 4 rig slots
40 MW powergrid 150 TF cpu 600 calibration points
(other details... up to balance)
basically a "generic" frigate that could be adapted to be anything...
the cruiser version would require ASC 4, and have boosted cpu, grid, have 5/4/4 slot layout... 6 rig slots and 900 calibration
battleship would require ASC 5, same boost to cpu, etc... have 6/5/5 and have 8 rig slots... 1,200 calibration points
the basic idea would be that these would be "blank" ships that could be nearly anything... and have more calibration points per slot than the normal tech 1 ships... 150 points per rig slot. When fighting one, you would not know what it could do until engaged.... the normal ship bonuses that ships get replaced by rigs. A normal ship would be better at it's role... the proto ship would excel at those weird roles, or be unpredictable.

I didn't think I would but I actually kind of like it. What would be sweet is if your unsure what you will need in the future you just keep cranking these out to fill gaps.

it would be expsnsive (since rigs are not cheap)... but it would also be flexible
mainly this is just a "whatIf" game

I started reading it and was thinking "What a stupid Idea!" But by the end of reading it, I kinda like the Idea. It would allow for some really interesting setups, but I think it needs to be limited to Cruisers and below to prevent large unbalancing isues that could arrise with larger ships. ------------------------------------- The difference between a Pirate and an Anti-Pirate is that an Anti-Pirate fights ships fitted with guns!

Would be cool if rigs weren't so expensive. An T2-fitted inty with a Gistii web could still pwn it, says I.

i like the idea. however with rigs in there current state of selling its a bit oo much to spend 200mill on a frigate

please note that the proto ship would be worse than a normal ship for what that normal ship would be optimized for
so the proto ship... would be worse... with flaws
