It looks a lot cooler, however, it's a PITA to use...

Edited by: Alekzander on 18/01/2007 00:51:34 You really don't want to USE that interface, but it was pretty slick, the major downside, you couldn't see what your mid/low slots where doing when your highs were displayed, and IIRC the new keyboard shortcuts were added in too (ctrl + f1 for mid 1, alt + f1 for low 1, etc)for mids/lows so you just had f1-f8, and clickeh a radio button to cycle slot views.
Achient history, new interface, much more slick, and you can drag mods to any position which is nice.
Scram/Disruptor in F1 anyone?

Well I can't claim to be a vet but I have tried EVE several times from beta up till now and as others have said while that interface looks slick boy did it suck. The current one is vastly better.
If I could change one thing back it'd be the fact that the new overview (it wasn't really an overview before but you get my meaning) is locked in place.

Yeah having to switch between low med and high slots just to activate was a major pain.

It looked very cool, but yeah, it was lame to use.
The combatant damage UI, a circle to tell three different levels of HP was a bit lame to tell how much damage they have taken.
The High, Medium and Low slots being divided up and having to actively click a button to switch between them was also a PITA.
So basically, it was pretty, but clunky and not too useful. ____ http://eve-tribune.com/ - A weekly fan-run magazine.

TBH the worst part of it was the circular damage HUD for your target. The right half of the circle roughly represented shields, the left half armor, structure really wasnt there.
So you'd be killing a target, shoot all the way through its visible HP, and then you have to keep shooting and cross your fingers while you went through his structure. - - -

I actually liked the user unfriendliness...made fights a bit more seat of the pants, and made room for a lot more mistakes. Course guns and missiles back then were far easier to use than they are now.
