Edited by: Splagada on 18/01/2007 11:36:11 For about a month i'm "done" in my primary skills, all ready with T2 guns and fittings and all, greatly enjoying the "AT LAST" feeling. polishing BS skills and all still but the main work is done.
so well i went in pvp operations to defend our little space and such.
first fight, ok say bye to my ship
second fight, ok i died again
third, ok... there is something there
each time it wasnt blobs, it was perfectly balanced fights, 2vs2, 10vs10 or 1vs1
i realized i was starting to climb the pvp experience learning curve... and omg its a hard one lol
Last night, FINALLY i got my first kill. i also died but damn
i fought some very skilled guys. not in huge ships, but i clearly saw them move away, come back just out of my range, run away again and come back again but this time with a friend, drive you nuts while you try to chase them just to lure you in a trap etc. switching ammo types, clearly knowing my ship and fitting in a very short time
While i sure wanted their pods, i also was very impressed that its not a "point and click" game at all. it really requires calm, balance, knowledge and all
An entire learning curve started, and here ends the hope to get my social life back !!!! ------ Testing the waters for alliances |

Hahahaha, don't you know eve never ends And yeah, that is great about pvp, like charging a thorax at close range... instead of trying to keep out of his.... or not stopping the mwd on the inty on time... knowing your stabber has less cap than that other cruiser and just in the end he gets you i nweb range...

The thing about EvE i allways love is the feeling of-after getting podded mostly- "Damn, that guy did something nasty to me! I want to do that aswell", then u start a 1-2-3....month training program and u end up being nasty aswelll but never just like the pilot that inspired you, allways a personal touch in setups ~me wubs EvE~

Yes.
People make that mistake alot.
They think PVP is just skillpoints and ships and gateganks.
Eve pvp is so rich and deep, it really transcends what people think they know.

What about users complaining about users complaining about users? And what if the moderators were to complain about the users who complained about the users who complained? And if the devs started complaining about the moderators who complained about the users who complained about the users who complained? Try saying THAT 10 times quickly while having The Next Pot Of Quafe Qoffee(TM).
On a more serious note though, once you PvP, you never look back, and while the curve is a bit steep, it's all the more fun racing downhill again :)

I think we need two forums. One for people enjoying the game, and one for people who just post here to complain about something.
Its like real life... you can choose what crowd you hang with. Do you want to hang with the guys who always gossip about everyone else and never ever say anything positive about anyone else, or do you want to hang with the guys that try to look at the upside of things and see the good things in other people? At least in real life you can choose, but in these forums we get both kinds of people in one place...
Two forums will never happen though...

Now I'll have to go check if there's something in the rules about complaining about moderators. Is that the same as discussing? Probably yes. Well there you go: The Devs complain about you, you pwnzor them.
Mods win.

Not to bash on this intelligence conversation that includes talking down on people who denounce PvP while at the same time denouncing every other actual coded part of the game, but pvp is a detrimental action in EVE more than any other game. You can only exist because other people play the game while you blow up the money you either bought, borrowed, or leeched from mission runners / miners / manufacturers and other less broad professions, or simply because you yourself have in the past done these actions or continue do them in order to get isk to fund it. And the sad truth is using logic to talk to most people who are pvp crazy on any game is pointless so just chalk this up as you having read this and that having satisfied me...

nice, this sorta of attitude is why I keep telling others that game is not a mmo, it is a space based quake game. (shouldn't ccp reps keep their personal opinions of the game play and style to themselves? Is that comment ment to be an official CCP opinion, if not, keep your personal opinions out of it while wearing the CCP rep hat.)
Eve started out with a promise of being an mmo, it has become a fps with mmo as a little aspect that nobody gives a fsck about...it is al about shooting others, and causing grief to mmo players that just joined (noobs).

WTS Sense of humour 1 isk.
Moderators are not and never have been CCP reps. They are players who have volunteered to help with the moderation of the message boards but they are not representatives of CCP in any form and thus thier opinion does not reflect that of CCP.
Personally I find that fact pretty obvious.

If you were going to split it up, we'd need three general forums. One for the whiners who scream about leaving at the drop of a hat, one for the fanboys who won't hear one bad word said about CCP, and one for the rational people who like most aspects of Eve but are discerning enough to complain when it's needed.

WTF is this drivel??
EVE is PvP. This has been stated by the devs many many times, and even in the newbie guide you are told that nowhere is safe. Without PvP there would be no demand for the minerals you mine, the ships/modules you manufacture/the loot you sell from missions. PvP drives EVE, it is not a detriment. Please take some time and think about that. -=^=-

Here is somthing for you to think about....Do you beleave CCP would be where they are now, if it were not for thousands of PVE players playing this game? I can remember when 3k was the highest number ever loged on at one time. That was before missions came about.

Are you implying that the devs know more about this game than him? So many people keep saying Eve is all about carebearing and PvPers are evil basement dwelling sociopath griefers from Mars that it must be true!

Man Roshan, you sure do manage to talk a lot of crap.
Before missions came out? WTF? Missions have always been here. And the majority do mission yes, but they are also PvPers. If you think every one of those people in empire just mission run 23/7 you are sadly wrong. Not even EVE players are that stupid, to grind with no goal but to grind more. ___

Dont pvp in BS's until you're suffiecently skilled ot use all T2. They're a huge target, adn most likely the first targeted because of their huge damage potential.
Stick with BC's or cruisers until you can get into an AF or HAC. Even a hac is like a BS in terms of how quickly you'll get primaried.
Stick with cruisers or AF's until you get your sea legs, then switch to heavier guns. ---------------------------------------- Friends Forever

I am sorry, but I fail to see any point or relevance in your reply to my comment. I was replying to whatsisface on his comment about how PvP is a detriment to the game, when the game is freakin built around PvP! Yea there are more people now than there used to be, that is the purpose of advertisement and the nature of things. So maybe alot of those people do nothing but run missions, but in the end, they are still, in some way, contributing to the overall framework of the game, which is built around PvP.
Please lets not highjack this thread any more, I am sorry I replied to that comment in the first place. -=^=-
