The guy is a legend. Not only is the suit cool, but he's doing this to save the lives of soldiers in the field. I would certainly buy one. Legend. Absolute legend. Sounds a bit loony, but legend all the same.

Edited by: Kazuma Saruwatari on 19/01/2007 08:24:16 Its best to ask the everyday grunt who's in the field if such a suit would be feasable.
Hell, if they say its of use, for example, to exposed gunners on top of humvees, I say more power to the suit and him. At least he tried giving something to the men and women who are fighting
EDIT: also, I wouldnt mind getting one of those myself. Would help alot on the daily commute to work/school and home. Lots of muggers here

I had a friend get attacked by a bear once. The mere fact that this guy's suit let him walk away is good enough for me.
And, no questions on how he got the elephant gun, I'm simply impressed that it took the round! Next test... armor piercing NATO rounds. Of course, if ya can't protect major joints (ie: knees, elbows) what good is the suit actually going to do against explosives... or a well-aimed/lucky, stray bullet? The US and the UK are actually already working on a type of armour like that. The US is also hoping to have Chameleon armour and smart bullets (like in the Fifth Element).

I know he has put effort into it and all, but really its laughable what he has done. He is sitting there being completely ignorant to the fact that he's wanting to design something for the US/Can military... does he seriously think they havent already done research leaps and bounds more along than his? 1 person, and maybe a couple buds, doing research vs an entire government research agency with billions to spend. I know sometimes the less money and smaller research teams thinking outside the box is better, but I dont think thats the case in this.
I cant remember where / when I seen it but his idea with laser pointer on his head, in US military theres already a system similar to that except much better. The system shoots an IR beam at the target that is not visible to the naked eye, but all the soldiers could see it due to their own equipment. I'm not an expert on this sh!t but I've lived in the military the past 22 years of my life, I'm 22. And I'm pretty sure this system is actually already being utilized in Afghanistan's mountains, and if I'm not mistaken the IR beam actually creates a small heat signature that they can continue see'ing after the IR beam is lost and they can infact 'tag' multiple targets with it. However, this system isn't an exoskell or part of the future warrior concept, but is a small eye piece dropping from the helmet and IR beams attached to the sight of the rifles.

I watched shootout last night. About the two that held up the Bank of America in LA. AK-47's and full body armor...Its always been there, the armor. But not flexable enough for our guys. The bobdy armor issued, will protect the "critical" areas of the torso, and that is about it.

Just about every major improvment to weapons, body armour and bullets have3 been made by individuals or small groups. Hell the guy who made the segway is makeing a device to allow soldier to jump up 6 stories in a single bound. smaller and more efficient then any government jetpacks. Here is a quick rundown.

depends on how maneuverable you can be in this suit of Armour. Also how does it resist AP rounds. really better to have full agility if the bad guys only need to switch to AP rounds.
The Us military is working on something similar that combines with a scope on the weapon. He should submit his design for testing.

his design looks more intimidating than the armys model, is full body, and probably would be very easy to add an integrated H.U.D. I would so buy one of those suits, just because they look bad ass, and could you imagine paintballing in one of those?
