I'm essentially trying to speed my way to acquire a lot of Loyalty Points, really fast.
Here are my current skills: Defender Missiles 1 FoF Missiles 1 Guided Missile Precision 3 Heavy Assault Missiles 2 Heavy Missiles 4 Missile Bombardment 3 Missile Launcher Operation 5 Missile Projection 3 Rapid Launch 3 Rockets 4 Standard Missiles 3 Target Navigation Prediction 3 Torpedoes 2 Warhead Upgrades 2
14 Missile Launcher Operation skills trained, for a total of 575,240 skillPoints.
What should I go for? Initially my strategy was to use Heavy Assault Missiles and just close in FAST using Afterburner II. Kill EVERYTHING and just dock and grab another mission. This isn't as effective as I thought it would be, with Heavy Assault Missile range approximately 10KM.
I really need some advice from veterans here.

Very simple: Step 1 - skill into a Raven Step 2 - aquire cash for a Gist B X-large Step 3 - get a CNR Step 4 - max support skills for RoF and damage on chosen missile
There are other paths but cruise missiles got me into my CNR within very reasonable times. If you want a lot of LP I assume you have a plan for them? For me the plan was to skill as hard as possbile while I make enough Isk to support getting skill books and getting ready for a move to 0.0 aka "rest of the game."
Connection Books with the agent division is a MUST if you want fast LP...skill to at least 4 in both connections and then just run mission after mission after mission.
Oh..and if anyone named Lofty or similar ask you to join a gang for whatever reason, say no=P

Weapon upgrades to 4 ASAP so you can use Ballistic control unit II is the biggest single impact on your dps that I can think of.

trained socail skills? social and negotiation increase effective agent level so theye give more loyalty points(and standing incraese/payment), then diplomacy helps raise standing and effective quality of agent too(not sure on that though)
then the connection skills increase loyalty points gained as well, but those are rather expensive compared to other skills.
getting missiles support skills to 4(doesnt take as long as lvl5 and gives bigger effective bonus then level 5..) helps to kill faster, specialy if its your primary weapon system. dont know what ship you are using, but get battlecruiser skill up to 4 and get the new caldari bc. then drone skills for light/med drones to kill those pesky little fast frigates as theye work better then missiles for that - When talking about the itsy bitsy spider, try not to start with itchy, you'll get the second part wrong as well |

Train all missile skills to 4. Then all engineering skills to 4. Get into a Raven or CNR and have high social skills.
Voila, implants are coming your way.

Edited by: J Valkor on 19/01/2007 07:15:59 Getting the type of missile you are using to level 5 base and getting spec is a good step. There is no better damage bonus then the missiles base skill.
Past that, ROF is always a good step to take. Rate of Fire tends to give more DPS per point then just speccing in damage. I personally fly a Nighthawk and I am enjoying it, but a Raven is easier to get and has similar performance (depending on skills one may be faster then the other.) Things like Missile Precision and Target Navigation Prediction are fairly low priority. Missile velocity is better then just flight time, but the flight time is easier to spec. I'd say once you can hit to 70km you are good for any level 4 missions that I have personally done. However, having at least three in all skills is going to do you a favor before you start spending days at a time learning skills. Though, like I said, speccing in the missile of your choice is a huge pay out.
Other then that, I would say to not forget about your drones. Depending on your ship they are essentially free damage you can use to mop up frigates or to assist on your difficult spawns (such as the 2.5 million bounty in Vengeance.) And yeah, the social skills.

Train the 2 points left into Rapid Launch? I know it is only 6% or something, but it is still a dps increase :-P --- Currently flying a PvE geared Crusader and Prophecy |

Don't bother getting the support skills to level 5 right away, they are a long train for an early character and not worth the time initially.
Use Heavy Missiles in PvE for level 3's and Cruise or Torps for level 4's. Don't bother using Heavy Assault's for PvE. Get warhead upgrades to 3 or 4. Get 3 BCS II on your ship. Get a drake for level 3's (or even for level 4's actually) and passive tank it.

I use Cruise Missiles even for level 3's, and it seems to work great. Even against Frigates due to my various missile skills.

I advise you to rethink that.
Explosion radius for a cruise missile with your skills is 255m. Assuming a npc frigate has a signature radius of 40m, you'll only do 16% of the cruise missile's potential damage.
While you'll probably get away with this against standard frigates, assault frigates will cause you major hassle.
Since you don't really need the damage output of cruises on level 3 missions (no battleships), you're better off using more efficient and much cheaper heavy missiles.
