I couldn't help but notice the signs that the abbadon was most likely in the pipe to become an Amarr carrier. the running lights, The 4 frontal doors (hanger bay anyone), the quite early release of images in comparison to the other tier 3's. I just wondered why, especially from a design point of view, how could they take a ship that they paid an artist to do research on and develop a form that so eloquently fit its lore and role, be substituted for another full out beam ship. Well if anything BSG fans will probably fall in love with this one.
So CCP, when you going to do a competition for a fan to design a ship

I would love to see a redesign of the Caldari fleet.
As far as the Abbadon goes, the Amarr Carrier they currently have is the only 1 that looks like Carrier size, the Abbadon is too small to be a carrier in the Amarr world.

Oh and I totally agree it obviously was inspired by the Battlestar Galactica. The sliding hangers that are on the sides just like BSG. They look retractable like BSG's do before it jumps. It's so easy to visulize fighters launching out the side of it.

Hmmmm haven't noticed that before, Will have to look at it close up next time I see one.

It looks like ccp wanted to go for a dread looking carrier at first if this was true...I mean this thing is the minime of the revalation.

Reminds me more of a mini revelation to be honest.
Saw one once at an angle below me and noticed how similiar it looked to a dread that was further off.
While I'm on it, the Aeon is a giant bestower with a runway strip stuck on the side.
