Why is it so hard to comeup with a outfit for yourself? Just do a bit of researching and find out what fits you best.
Everyone has their own personal load-outs in this game. Some people like firepower, other people like tanking themselfs, and some prefer speed over defense and firepower.
Its your call on what you want on it, so read the modual information and find out what you like.
If you want some info on fleet battles then you might want to ask your fleet what they need and how you can supply what they are short on.
just read your sig, you might want to follow your own advice.

as much as ppl say this is good, and that is bad, the bottom line is that you HAVE TO use modules that suit you....(not much help sorry, but its the truth). What do I use:
NPC
4* Hybrids 425mm (thorium / Uranium)
1* H-50 (defenders)
3* AB's (NO MICROWARP DRIVE)
1* Signal Booster (must have)
1* Optical Tracking Computer (very good)
1* whatever turns you on..cap boosters etc
5* Weapon mods (I use 3 Mag vortex 1's 2 Magnetics)
PvP:
Im a missile Boat, and as such function within the fleet as one:
3* S1100 Torps
3* H-50's (Arblests) Torps
Middle (hotly debated)
Basically shield up...Shields / Hardeners
GET a good booster XL (large is useless in BS IMO)
5* Power diagnostics 1's (great for shields and power)
Well..im not saying this is the optimal or best set-up, but it works for me 
I am still playing and experiemnting myself..I have had it for 2 weeks...lol
