Due to some changes (I think bug fixes) it is not possible to have a full board of trustees (about 10 people) on the FIN trust, as opposed to the current two.
Along with a clearer bondholders agreement, there will be a vote soon(tm) for an adoption of a new board. I would like to open the floor up for nominations for the new board from existing investors.
The board members that are pretty much definate (and have agreed in principle to be) are (in chronological order):
1) EFS Manager (Me) 2) EMFi Auditor 3) Femintaki 4) Serenity Steele 5) Naal Morno 6) Chribba
There are currently 4 posts available and I would like the total board to reflect people whose character is above reproach and who represent the full sphere in Eve.
(There are some people that I have in mind but have not had a chance to speak to yet)
Sincerely,
EFS Manager

just wondering, why do this?
Your current board has 2 people, why bother to get it up to 10 people. Didnt 2 people work? What does increasing your board get you/us?
Also, I would think that an odd number would be better, since you would have a built in tie breaker. --

A bigger board gives more security, as currently one two people need to be in on a scam, or 1 person needs to be away.
I see your point and agree. Might be better to have an odd number. Thanks for the suggestion!

All seconded, and I further nominate Montaire and Paper Pusher, the former because I think he's very trustworthy, and the latter just for spite. ;)

I'd drop Erfnam and throw Shin Ra on (not because I don't think that he would scam, but because I think he's aggressive enough about embarrassing people that he would announce a scam the second he thought that he saw one). Otherwise, a decent selection.

Thank you all for the feedback so far.
Could I ask that everyone give ideal top 11 person board(make sense to be an odd number) and if possible also give a little bit about why that person. I realise that there are a lot of very trustworthy people that are not that well known (such as Barbicane who I would trust multi billions of Isk to without security).
I for one am not sure who Montaire is, but then I do not deal in very wide circles.
My one other long term concern is conflict of interest, and I would apreciate general feedback and thoughts on this. By this I mean that FIN may branch out into other business ventures that may become direct competition to some of the board members.
Thanks for the feedback so far!
Sincerely,
EFS Manager

1) EFS Manager 2) EMFi Auditor 3) Femintaki 4) Serenity Steele 5) Naal Morno 6) Chribba 7) Erfnam 8) Omber Zombie 9) Khatred 10) Tornsoul 11) Shin Ra
I think you need someone who is not part of the "old boys" club as it were so someone like Shin Ra would be good there. I would be willing to do it myself, but I doubt I have enough time to devote to the game for it to be doable.
Tornsoul is above reproach (though may not have enough time), Khatred is very rich and probably would be a good resource for pricing BPOs, Erfnam and OZ just seem trustworthy.

1. EFS Manager 2. EMFi Auditor 3. Femintaki 4. Serenity Steele
All of the above have proven to be at least nominally trustworthy at handling multi-billion ISK endeavors, and there's a minimum of conflict of interest.
5. Dark Shikari - Well-known and a reputation-*****. Also, has an interest in seeing FIN succeed because of TRUST. 6. Proton Power - Well-known and well-liked. Doesn't get along with some of the other board members so is probably more liable to expose potential scams. 7. Shin Ra - reason stated elsewhere. Jerk. Jerks are good for exposing people. 8. Someone with a lot of shares - Doesn't matter who, but someone who's primary interest sitting on the board is to make sure that his shares are worth quite a deal. 9. Omber Zombie - Same as 1-4, but perhaps with a conflict of interests. 10. Erfnam - Why not? Other's trust him, and generating outside trust is a big part of what you're trying to do. 11. Whoever YOU feel most comfortable with having as a trustee, since, as you've said many times, you stand to lose the most in this endeavor.

I'd do it if asked, but would it be a conflict ? I own a chunk of shares.
As for who I am, I do a great deal of industrial work in the North. Branch, Fade, Deklein, Pure Blind and the surrounding areas. You will likely have heard of me if you do much in those areas. People are often sent my way if they do not currently do business, but would like to start. Im commonly called "Monty"

I would be a very bad choice for a trustee because everytime the fund will try to buy a ship bpo or it will be approached by a seller, I'll try to get it first _______________________________________________

Only T2 ship BPOs. Khatred has a sucky module BPO collection, but far too many ship BPOs for his own good. It would help if you convince him to donate some to me

Don't think so. People have been nominating me and I have 2 billion in FIN. EMFI Manager also has money in FIN, I believe.
If anything, FIN shares ensure that the trustees have their own ISK riding on their trust.

I agree. Having bonds is in no way a conflict of interests, as the trustees would there largely to protect the interests of the bondholders by making sure it is not possible to scam.

Someone outside the T2 producing conglomerate and who isn't neccesarily intricately involved in the stock market/public eve corporations.
More or less a sceptical observer who isn't unestablished in the community.

While I agree Baun that is a great idea, and also brings some more out of the box thinking to the board. Unfortunetly trying to find someone who isn't a part of the stockmarket, a public corp, or part of the T2 "elite", AND established in the community will be a hard person to find.

Why do they need to be an established part of the community? I thought the entire point of the Board of Directors was to make it so we didn't have to trust everyone involved.

granted we dont have to trust everyone envolved, but we do need someone who we know as a straight shooter. Someone known to at least some of us, who isnt part of what Baun earlier referred to as "the old boys club".
I guess we could just pull the first newb we find in jita and through him the board..... --

Hmmm... maybe someone like ifni or Spiral Junkie. There is a thought as both have nothing to do with production as far as I am aware and both are well known.

I'd much prefer if whoever was chosen was chosen because of trust, not because they're popular.
Imagine if people started choosing Arnold Schwarzenegger and David Hasselhoff for real-life boards.

No, for the same reason I typed SirMolle and then deleted in in my nomination post. Yes, he's got large quantities of isk and presumably knows how to handle it, but, more than likely, he doesn't give a damn about the financial underpinnings of even a few hundred billion isk. Unless the nominee has an appreciation for the gravity of the responsibility paired with a commitment to complete his or her job in the face of any adversity, I cannot in good conscience nominate them or support their nomination.

For the record ifni is someone that I trust and there are a lot of people that trust Spiral Junkie. There is the added bonus that you KNOW they are not the same person, which is hard for the general eve player to be sure of. I often post with my alt, better known as Dark Shikari for example :P
