I'm wanting to erect (girlish giggle) a POS in a .6 system for some research.
Apparently I will need standings with the owner of the space.
Is this a corp-corp standing? Or a personal standing?
Starting at 0, how long would it take a person to run missions to increase this standing, running level1 and 2 missions? We talking months? |

Edited by: Dregena on 21/01/2007 21:55:18 Youll need 6.0 Corp Standings. Itll take you along time if your only doing lvl1/2s. You if you have isk to spare you could get someone with the correct standings to join your corp and update em?

First of you arent erecting anything you are deploying :)
Its your corps standing towards the faction that controls the system you want to deploy in, you use when determining whether or not you can deploy. The standing needed is sec rating of desired system *10 so you will need 6.00 corp faction standing towards the sovereign to deploy in a 0.6 system.
To get a 6.00 corp faction standing by doing lvl 1 and 2 missions it will take you ages. You really need lvl 3 missions to do it.

Does the skill 'connection' contribute towards the total faction standings, or does it require your raw faction standings?
Thank you in advance

We're talking about "corp" standing, an average between all corp players' individual standings. Connection skill only boosts "personal" standing and the increase doesn't count in the average computation.
Here's an example for a 2 players corp: Player1 -> Base: 1.0, w/ Connection: 1.4 Player2 -> Base: 2.5, w/ Connection: 3.2 Corp = (1.0 + 2.0) / 2 = 1.5
Also, you can see who contributes to this average. Open corp info -> standing tab, right-click the faction/corp -> show contributions. You'll get what you're looking for. Corp standing is also updated once in a while and doesn't progress very fast, you might have a lower standing than what you're computing by hand...

If Player 2's base standing is 2.5, why is 2.0 used in calculating the average? Is that right, and would it also be rounded down to 2.0 if the base standing were 2.9, for instance?

I suspect that is a typo. I think it would be calculated as 2.5.
