Santa was kind enough to bring me a Dell 30" monitor for Christmas. EVE is entirely a new game at this resolution, and unlike other games actually WORKS BETTER at this resolution.
These were meant for personal use, so they're not too snazzy (don't get your hopes up). But some alliance mates wanted to see more, so I thought I'd share here.
Warning: These are approaching 1mb each, so if you're on dialup, be warned.

One of the Rokh screens is my new desktop background  Great screens btw. Went from 1024x768 to 1680x1050 myself at Christmas, even that is a pretty big difference; so I can only imagine what a 2650x1600 would be like

Awesome. I really like the Blue Rokh and the Rainbow Abaddon in Natural. Nicely done.

Very Very nice, some of the best desktops I have seen on the forums. I will have to resize them to fit to my non-widescreen monitor.
Also the Abaddon looks like its advertising Ga y Pride

now here's a post at the right time, I was pondering that moniter (or bigger ) but was not sure if the pimpin' pixel proportions are produced purely by the graphics card or the limits of the moniter? (can I use more 'p's in that sentance? )
I have set my massive 19" HP to 2048x1536 and it's awesome. |

I have set my massive 19" HP to 2048x1536 and it's awesome.
I'm no techie, but to get the Dell 30" to run at max rez, you need a DVI-D (dual link) capable vidcard, and use the DVI-D cable that comes in the box (it has more pins/wires compared to a standard DVI cable). I run mine on a single nVidia 7900 GTX and it runs fine. Installation was plug and play.
Things like Excel, Photoshop, and EVE are really cool on it. Yes, the fonts in EVE are entirely legible (much more than my old 17" Viewsonic). Web browsing is fun w/ 2 browsers side by side. MS Word set to 75% size lets me view almost 6 pages at once. Not trying to brag, just saying that the benefits of this setup continue to grow on me. I wish I'd upraded from my old 17" sooner.

Initially the size was disorienting and I felt like I was fighting the mouse, but after a day or two I got used to it.
In a lot of ways, a twitchy mouse isn't a good thing. I canceled AE4 today by accident because I got on the wrong line of text in the agent screen. I'm sure I'd do more dumb things like that if I had sensitivity cranked up.

Blue Abbadon and Natural Abbadon on m Duals, absolutly sweet backgrounds. nice and simple and sweet colours just what a DT background should be like, also space to put the endless amount of desktop icons on

fair point,but he, like me, is an early adopter who spends the extra dosh to get the latest gadgets, we prefer top notch to the average

when i read my Spammmail, i could think many man spend alot more than 500ú for much less than 6 inches of enlargement :P
but i can beat the 30" got a video beamer EvE is there 4m diagonal but only @ 1280x720
