It's 9.25pm and for the past 25 min i'm trying to dock, after 4 disconnects and another 4 relogins i can't dock. WTF is wrong with this f****** game every day for the past 2 weeks i get like 5 or more disconnects, i made 2 pettions to CCP and they said to clear cache and install a patch i've reinstaled eve and the patch and nothing just the usual "Connection to server lost" and nothing more. What happend with that great game named "EVE" because the real game eve worked fine some time ago, the new revelation add-on did reveal something ALOT OF F****ing BUGS and nothing more. I just can't play i can't even connect sometimes,when is there going to fix this major bug it's been like at least 2 weeks since it stoped working!!!! (it's like those emulator servers from WOW they have less things that work than things that don't work)!!!!!!!!!!!

I had... well HAVE this problem but managed to figure out a workaround. Everytime I start EVE I have to reboot my router first. If I don't then I keep getting disconnected, etc etc. But a simple reboot for some reason makes the problem go away. D-Link router btw. Worth a shot, after you've exhausted opening ports, configuring firewalls and all that.

i don't have acces to the network router, what do i do? i'm linked to a swich thou if i restart it..... it's the same?

I have the same problem. Havnt been able to fix it. When I do a tracert to the eve server. It times out at the second connection. So must be something about that.

If any of you is useing linksys routers / modems / hubs or connection devices you may want to update your device's bios / firmware.
There is an bug which causes "ghosteing" connections in these devices which means it keeps old connections in it's memory till the point the memory is full and it then can give lots of problems getting an stable connection (this happens alot faster with people useing P2P software).
Edit to add: which would indicate why the router reset for one of the follow up posters works for him / her.
Also make sure your internet connection is not overconsumed (meaning your download / upload is used up).
Make sure your computer is clean of virusses and spyware (some tend to abuse your system to make "private hosting servers" for some maliculous people).
Also make sure that if you share your line with other people in your household that one of them is not hogging all bandwidth with an Peer to Peer (P2P) program.
The cause of connection losses may reside on a large scale anywhere between:
- an faulty (network) driver on your computer
- the wiring inside your home
- your router / modem haveing a problem
- the internet service provider (ISP) haveing a bad connection (BT is very well known for this for example)
- some routing between your ISP and london eve server datacenter (some level 3 often mentioned router comes to mind)
- upto something inside eve their server cluster (node death, unstable node etc)
Often it is hard to find the exact cause especially if you do not really know how to make sure it is not on your computer, it is not your wireing inside your house or any of the devices you use for connecting to the internet.
The only thing i can say about connectivity issues is that i have had lots of them in the past (downloads die-ing out on me, random disconnects and slow page loading randomly).
After i done a firmware upgrade on my router it improved alot but i still kept haveing little problems here and there which a new driver and new installation of operating system aswell fixed.
True the internet tries to be stable but is everything but stable, so an random disconnect can still happen.

I have a D-Link DI-624 wireless router and I was getting disconnected every few minutes. The restarting of my router fixed my problem just as he said it would. Sorry you don't have access to your router.

i got disconnected 4 times yesterday ... never had that problem ... wonder what happend

I had this problem last night. Suddenly Eve starts disconnecting every few minutes, even while I was doing things.
Found out another user just started up his P2P, which caused enormous lag on my line(8/1 Mbit). Pings above 300ms and lots of "destination unreachable", between my router(DI-624+ WiFi) and my ISP (12ms under normal circumstances and no unreachables). I blocked his MAC address. Ping went back to 12ms. And no more disconnects the rest of the evening.

BTW, I also had problems logging in, until I banned the P2P user:
- Server Status would show as "Incompatible" or "Unknown"
- Sometimes "Authenticating" would take forever or freeze completely.
- "Acquiring Bulk Data" would take several minutes.
All of those problems disappeared when I blocked the P2P user.
