What happened to my game?
I just returned. I hopped a dozen systems and found no fights, no smack-talk, and no fleets.
I have surmised that CCP has successfully decommissioned high-sec warfare. Now I am trying to "fit in".
So I have decided to try industry... Which is what everyone else is doing I think.
I tried planetary interaction. I made a command post. I can't figure out how to attack anyone else's command outposts and I don't understand what the objective is. I have told it to do something for 18 days and I'm looking forward to finding out what that was.
So far, industry is like a pie-eating contest where the prize is more pie. I started my planetary thing. I made a few bantams for about 3x what they cost on the market. I'm guessing if I get good at this I'll be better able to amass isk with my increasing isk generation capacity. As that grows, I'll get better at making isk.
I must really like isk.
Now I'm going to try to learn to fly the retriever. How often does a 100 million SP pilot say that?

I'm about to start training to fly one! I also have a bit of expertise with planetary interaction (I have a thing on a planet in Ruvas that's making something and I can't wait to find out what it is).

Opportunity cost: you could sell those "free" minerals at market value. Why would I sacrifice that opportunity to make bantams which are less valuable?

I have a confession.
I was just posting that MERC crap to take the **** out of some guys who were offering Dodixie denial. Seriously, what do you do when the only hubs you have to choose from are Jita, Amarr, Hek, and a dozen others?
I didn't expect any big orders for Umokka denial with sides of smacktalk and planetary interaction.
Then something wonderful happened. Then I got a request to throw a firework parade for Holysheet. I like this idea... ALOT.
Now I'm legit. Maybe even more legit than my third party isk services.
I've got a parade to plan.
This may be the best MERC contract I've ever serviced.

Yep, it's a lot harder to find fights.
Which has made those of us that look for fights extremely good at it.
Freighter suppression has gone from a novelty carried out by bored blobs of Goons, into a professionalized, optimized, streamlined death machine.
You should pack all of your PI materials in a freighter, and autopilot from Jita to Dodixie sometime.

That's my main platform for csm. The retribution patch hit Eve hard. It was a bad idea and we need it fixed for the sake of eve. The old aggro system was fine, many good players left because of the suspect timers and killrights. Granted there would be some ammendments, like maybe a docking timer on logi, but eve community numbers have dwindled since then and we should roll back some of the changes. IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!

I've googled this which makes me an expert. Surprisingly, you cannot shoot the planet.
Tears, for the Eve industrialist, are not harvested or gotten in the way the C&P community would think. I thought certainly tears or something equivalent, would come from PI.
After a thorough examination, I'm nearly certain that industrialists have to "manufacture" their own tears. I've made a few just in trying to figure out how PI works.
I can imagine long-term PI would be a bountiful source of tears, but I'm simply not masochistic enough to walk this path. I like other people's tears better.

Ok, I'm doing this to inform other players who may not know. This is new to me.
I mined last night for about an hour in a covetor. Before that, I did like 20 minutes (one ore hold full) in a retriever.
This is actually less boring than level 4 missions, incredibly. I was near certain it would be terrible, but I was BSing on teamspeak and hardly noticed the clicking requirements to mine.
I don't feel like I "played", but I got some isk out of it. I would say profit potential was on-par with level 4 missions.
I was surprised how painless it was because last time I mined I think I was in a Rokh (I never trained barges). If you have ever mined in a Rokh, it's more intense than pvp. So... Many... Clicks...
I have not yet gone back to see what I made in Ruvas, but I'm thinking I'm going to try start another planet soon. I just have to figure out what I need for whatever I'm going to make. Blueprints are still somewhat intimidating to me because I don't like going umpteen jumps in a tayra (slow and painful) to get materials.
I'll post more if i learn more. |
