If somebody finds a signature in a cosmos area (Grav, Radar, Ladar or Magneto) the first person has a good chance to find it.
If a second person tries to find a signature that has allready been found once, the signature of the entrygate appears to be greatly reduced. Can a DEV confirm this???
This leads to the monopoly that a group clears the complex and finds the signature ASAP after DT when it is respawned. People who log on later that day only have the option to find it by massive probing.
I understand the respawn by DT due to technical reasons. But please don't reduce the signature, so others have a good chance to find it too.

AFAIK, they don't only respawn at DT, corp mates have had plexes despawn while they have been trying to scan them down, I'm assuming the opposite is true too.

This build on the VERY wrong assumption that these sites respawn at downtime.
This is not the case.
Neither do thier content respawn at downtime. So if you go into an exploration plex and clear lvl one before dt, it will remain cleared after dt. (As actually until the sites finished.)
Sites despawn shortly (1-2 hours) after they are finished. (Finished = The last exploration trigger in site triggered.) Then they respawn some other place imidiately after that.

Thanks for your clarification, Qual. Unfortunatly, it doesn't answer my question.
Are cosmos signatures reduced after the first person finds them?

TBH, I thought they were. The reason, I found a system with a Radar and a Unknown sig, I was looking for the radar, so I wipped out the radar probes, found a sig, nailed it down and it was the unknown one, so I dropped quests and started again. I spent an hour scanning till I hit the radar sig and eventually nailed it down.
This lead me to believe that if you find the sig, it will remove it or make it harder to find from that point on.
I was wrong.
Last night I found a Unknown and a Radar, Found the unknow pretty quickly, so went back to quests for the radar. For the next hour+, I kept getting hits on the unknown sig and was still getting nothing on the radar. I'll be back there looking for the radar this evening.
So, from experience, I would have to say, no, finding a site does not reduce its sig in anyway.

Nothing is supposed to change; if the probes still find it as cosmic signature, it should work all right.

It could also be that there was more than one unknown sig in the system. Even though the multispectral probe just shows one unknown line (or any other signal type) doesn't mean that there is only one Unknown sig in the system. I've found up to 4 different unknown plexes in the same system whilst trying to pin down a radar plex that i was after.![Very Happy](/images/icon_biggrin.gif)
