Just speaking for myself, I enjoyed the time when you could see active shield hardener effects only when you turned them on and later you saw effects only when being hit.
Current way, when the effect repeat itself once in a while is way way less cool.
It-¦s important enough for me to give feedback this way. If it belongs to different part of forum (or totally elsewhere), I apologize. |

As far as the hardener effects, I just wish the shield bubble would remain as long as the Hardeners are on, just like it used to back in the old days. Obviously it would be very faint until it was hit, but having that visible bubble around your ship would, in my opinion, be a cooler effect than the repeat Hardener pulses.

The shield effects in general and pretty cool, the hardener effect is the only one I don't like, it's not as good of a visual indicator as the old one and the pulsing is kind of ugly. |

The repeat pulses are kind of distracting to me in a negative way. I cannot say I would like the bubble around my ship permanently either (but I would have to see it to be sure of course especially if the effect would be more fainted).
I liked the way it was for a while (even when compared to the old effect). Seeing the effect once when the hardeners were "starting up" and then just having undisturbed view of my "clear hull" with shield effects only being visible when being hit.
As Vortis says, if the effect was permanent, I would probably prefer the old one. |

The old effect was really bright and kind of distracting though, as you alluded to. However, a bubble using the new tech could easily be little more than a very faint shimmer around the hull that leaves it mostly un-occluded but still shows the Hardener is active.
For me, I would prefer to have a continuously visible effect because Armor Hardeners have the same thing. It would almost seem to be an unfair advantage toward shield tankers that your enemy has no external indication as to whether your Shield Hardeners are on or not.

The new shield effects are sweet. I don't mind them not being each cycle. Armor hardener do have issues. The weird glare is odd when you turn ship is off putting, but what's worse is if you click a bunch it makes you, and everyone if your fleet, flicker. The hardener effect is probably bugged somehow. |

I think shields are good, its nice compromise between visibility and clarity,
The armor damage effect looks somewhat blurred in some points, as like the armor would be so thin its transparent, but its nothing really worth complaining. I think sharp edges would be more realistic.
