I've done a search for anything similar but cant fid owt, if you know of another post please point me in the right direction 
Put simply I cannot interact with any wrecks i produce. I get nothing when i right click them, if i lock them with shift-click i still cant do anything with them and then i cant unlock them unless i warp out. I certainly cant salvage anything with skill and salvager.
If i do lock them then try salvager it says "you cannot salvage wreck until it has been emptied of cargo" ...owtte but of course i cant get any cargo out of it 
Any suggestions greatly appreciated

i do have the same problem... but i dont know how to fix it !? but good to know that im not the only one with this problem !

ok i have deleted all the subfolders in the cache folder except the prefs.ini ... it works !!!

Your settings folder too? If so then this might be a settings problem, because I've got the same problem even after clearing all of my cache except for prefs.ini and the Settings folder.

I can confirm this.
Had this problem on one of my alts (and only one). Deleted the "char_xxxxxx.dat" file (in the Settings folder) for that character and that solved the problem.

Had the same problem today. Found a hidden plex (after not having played for quite some time), killed everything in it, thought it was something special that I couldn't do anything with the wrecks.
Asked around, then read this topic. Tried to solve my problem, and when I logged back in the plex was gone, including all 150+ wrecks :(
So I can cofirm this bug being around, but not if the solution works.
Hate this :(

I tried this and it works, you just lose all of your chat channels as a result. OMG THE HORROR
