Hi!
I have been in the manufacturing business for some time now, and the other day I made a (well, for me at least) huge investment and bought myself a Drake BPO. It was such a surprise to see that someone is actually selling it I took the chance and bought out the contract even if the BPO hasn't had any ME work on it...
I still think I have made the right choice, but now it comes down to earning my ISK back. I (ofcorse) am producing drakes, but I thought I can make some of the isk back with selling BPC's. Now to the question:
Do you think I should even try to sell BPC's with ME 0? Will they sell if they are considerably cheaper than others which have research done on them?
Offcorse I am planing to do research on my BPO but the problem is that my corp's POS-es are about 5 jumps deep in low sec and one of the gates is regularly camped, so I have decided to play it safe and do the research in public labs -> however that means a lot of waiting...

There are some High Sec vetures that offer to research the BPO (faster, but of course it will cost you money). We have a POS with Labs for that purpose too, but i dont think we can come up with enough collateral ;-).
Personally, as a producer i wouldnt buy Me 0 BPCs. I can get better BPCs from the market, sometimes even for a godo price.

I know what you mean, neither would I... however I still am going to put it up for about 1/5 of the regular price, just to see what happens...
I might take your advice and search for a corp that would do that in empire for a reasonoble price and can come up with the collaterall... (If any of those corps are reading, plz write to me in game)

im sure some enterprising contract trolls will buy up some of them. TBH though i think your time would be better spent getting that print into ME asap, instead of pumping out copys for the market.

You know you can buy them off the market from NPC's, right? Or have they sold out (!) since I last looked?

I don't know how things works in your region but in my (Sinq) thay sold out a few days after thay came out and never appeared since...
BTW: Still looking for some corp who could manage such a project for a reasonoble fee & can handle the colletral.

You can buy Drake BPO's off the market for 342 mil I believe it is. They sell in any Caldari region (Forge, Lonetrek, Citadel).
It is a complete and utter waste of time to sell un-researched BPC's. Why spend 12 hours or whatever copying a BPC that will sell for 500k isk only. It would take a year to make money back... if people even buy your bpc's for that much unresearched. If you just spend one month researching it you'd be able to sell them a hundred times easier.
But honestly, if your goal is to make money a drake BPO was a fairly poor investment imo. I bought one on the day they came out and I barely could make any profit off of it... nowadays I'm buying a lot of them for UNDER cost from the market, so people obviously can't get even mineral cost worth out of them, not sure why they even produce them at that price.
Your best bet is to research it to ME10-15, PE5 and then try to sell them... it will take time, but maybe by then the market for Drakes will be better as well.

It's hard to see who would buy an unresearched BPC for ANY amount of ISK. The difference in production cost using a decently researched BPC and an unresearched BPC is greater than the cost of a researched BPC.
Simple example (I'm not ingame right now, so values may be slightly out but are the right sort of size). Building a Drake with an ME 8 BPC costs around 3 mill less than Building one from an ME 0 BPC. An ME 8 BPC sells for around 2 mill ISK. So if I wanted to build a Drake and someone gave me an ME 0 BPC I'd save a million ISK by throwing that BPC away and buying an ME 8 one for 2 million.
If you make a reasonable offer I may be able to do a deal with you. I have a decently researched Drake BPO lieing around (currently using my copy slots for other things). Will have to check exact stats when I get ingame later but think my BPO is around ME 8-9, PE 2. The deal would be simple: you trade me your unresearched BPO + ISK in return for my researched one. No need for collateral, trust or waiting a month for research to happen. That would give you a bunch of BPCs in the time you'd otherwise be waiting for research to happen. If you're interested, mail me ingame and I'll PM you later. I'd of course then research your BPO back up in my POS.
P.S. You'd be better off building Drakes than selling BPCs. Even with current mineral prices you make more per built Drake than per BPC - and it takes half the time.
