Being Gal I'm not sure how I missed using this mod for so long. Now that I have found it I'm not sure how to use it. Does it do any good if the target already has you locked? Does it work on missal boats? How does the stacking penalty work? Should the values for scaning resolution and targeting range in the item database be negative? Does a Celestis work comparably to a Black Bird?

Sensor damps merely target the targetting system of another ship. Say they have a 60km base targetting range and you put a 30% damp on them, their targetting range will be 52km. So, if you put 3 damps on one target and your optimal range happens to be outside of their reduced range with your damps, essentially you never have to worry about them even getting to target you. Its great for support ships like recons or missile boats.
The trouble comes when you have multiple targets, because you can only uber-damp one person.
BTW, check out the lachesis and its boni. Then call me and we'll hook up (huginn + lachesis = OWNAGE) ~~~~~~~~~ Caldari. So easy Minmatar can do it |

Wouldn't the result be a 42k targeting range?

Here's an example with cruiser lvl 4 and no other damp skills:
I'm in a Celestis, it gets bonus for Dampner effectiveness of 5%/lvl (20%); with 3 RSD I's, I will dampen a Megathron with a base targeting range of 79750m's(~80km's) down to 17550m's(~17.5km's). I don't have time to show the math, but QuickFit will do it for you. If this was me, I'd stay outside of 18km's and he could never target me.

Originally by: Serret Nevets ~snip~ he could never target me.
even if he did.. it would take 60+ seconds to lock you. I got sensor triple sensor damped by a domi the other day and it took my raven ~42 seconds to lock another bs
Imagine the same situatuon. vs a cruiser (takes longer to lock anyways) that has a sensor damp bonus.. heck.. might take the mega over 100 seconds to lock onto the Celestis.
