I have recently created a corporation for me and my alt, and the faction standing is whacko.
i have 7.01 in faction standing towards gallente federation, and 4.73 with the other toon, which in my opinion should give me (7.01 + 4.73)/2 = 5.87 in corp standing with gallente federation. however it doesn't show ANY standing at all.
Anyone have had this problem and know what is going on?

you have to do 1 important mission while in that corp to kick start the standings. It then takes time to rise and settle to the average standing, can take about a week to get there.

Thank you for the reply... however i have done 2 important missions with the new corp and my toons started 15/1 -07. that is why i am a bit concerned

Hmm, that is strange, you should get a standing displayed instantly after doing the first important mission.
Wait untill after the next patch, do another important mission then let me know how you get on (post here again)
Although there have been a few posts about standing issues, everything looks fine from the database POV.

I had this issue where the Corp standing viewed via show info on corp would not move but if you looked at "show transactions" the correct value was shown at the top.
I petitioned and was told that some cache files had been marked in a patch as read only .. I deleted the cache and everything seems ok since.
"delete the cache" is Eve's equivalent of ctrl+alt+del for Windows 3.11 problems

Actually it will take more than a few days, here is a spreadsheet that shows how to estimate the time until your corp rate matches yours. This is taken from another poster so all credit should go to him or her (srry I forgot who it was)
CS = Current Corp Standings in EVE
TA = True Average of the members left in the corp.
DF = Diference, TA - CCS.
01 - Days , CS , TA , Diference
02 - Day 0, <Insert CS HERE> , <Insert TA HERE> , =C2-B2
03 - Day 1, =B2+(D2/4) , =C2 , =C3-B3
04 - Day 2, =B3+(D3/4) , =C2 , =C4-B4
So it looks like, for you, 27 days till it raises once you do a storyline/cosmos mission

well if you are correct i should have standing to the federation but not the true standing, however i have no standing i.e =null it doesn't show any standing at all. i don't even see gallente federation in my show standing field

Just looked your corp up, and it's reading as 5.42 to me. Might be some kind of display error

Hmm, i got the same problem.
I created a Corp with my standingless Alt 8 months ago, and finally decided to join it about 11 days ago. 8 days ago a friend joined my Corp. I myself have a nice standing 8.38 and he has a standing of 2.32. In the time that he has been aboard, i have done atleast 1 storyline mission. Yet, null corp standing to the Caldari State, only the Navy standing is growing.
I'll try to do another storyline mission this weekend.

You can't see your own corps standing for some reason. You need to get a mate or an alt outside of the corp to view it for you.
I have the body of a supermodel. I just can't remember where I left it.
