Before we had all the forum pics, 90% of the ! were by automatic called n00bs, Expanding on this. is there anyway CCP could at the bottom left of the picture give us a Bronze bar for 1 year in game, silver for 2, gold for 3 or more.
Also (this might cause some issues) on the bottom right, give us the same, however, Bronze for Lowest Sp char on account, Silver for middle, Gold for most ?
Gonna get flamed for the bottom one, but I think the top one has at least some merit ?

There's still an issue with the portraits?
I was told I might need to wait more than a month for mine, but it started working just about a week after I upgraded

Please replace the forum portrait with a big, fat $ every time a character gets traded.

For the SP bars...yes. For the years played? WTF are you thinking? People cancel accounts and come back all the time, and that should not mean they're automatically considered right over somebody who's been active longer. And don't say they won't be, because they will. -----

Your correct, tbh never considdered that. i've cancelled accounts as well (long skills 4TW) what if the bars had a grace time (say 1-3 months) before there timer stopped, Timer would restart upon reactervation.
Just an idea, it's the playerbase that would either break it or mash it to a "working" one

What's the point and why is there a need to further categorize people? How would this improve forum communications? Will the opinion of a 3 year old character be weighted heavier than a 6 month old?
Will beta players like myself that have been around since 2002 get a special frame around the picture?

Respect your elders? No. Why you ask?
Maybe because my second acct has a tit load of sp but I've only been playing the game for a year. Friends ftw. I'm not going to pretend I'm all l337 because my character was born in early '04. With the amount of char. transfers these days you can bet that at least 20% of the people that are 'old' in game are actually n00bs. ~~~~~~~~~ Caldari. So easy Minmatar can do it |

My thoughts exactly. I guess "discussions" are way easier if you can ignore people because they're "n00bs".

People will always categorize people, based on views, pictures, personal info ect however I don't mean for this to add to that, however it will do as almost everything can be used to add people to one these days.
Improve forum comm's: it won't, unless the picture upgrads the players Rl brain and way of communication.
Opinion of a 3 year old over 6 months: thats up to the reader of the post isn't it ? Beta players personaly for sticking with the game Should get something.
as for the the point of it.. thats up to everyone to decide, how would it be usefull to you? if at all.

They should at least enable us to see a players alts. I mean hiding behind an alt on the forum is pointless. So what they can see your main, if what you posted is what you feel than why should you hide from your own opinion. --------

Why do we even need rankings, in game time dosen't equate in anyway to intellegence or knowledge. All rankings give is another way for Dr Caymus to wave around his 74 million skillpoint Epeen ---

Rankings introduce elitism, and we don't need that kind of attitude here... oh wait.
In all seriousness though. Every game I've played that had some form of special razztastic super badge for the elderly players ie Myth, Battlefield 2 (I'm sure there are others) just allowed the guys with the nice badges to get all uppity and elitist and spit on the people beneath them. It's an interesting idea that sounds like it'd be a lot of fun but only in theory, as people kinda bork the way it eventually pans out.

I agree.
Here is a new concept. How about if we respect people's opinions no matter how long they have been playing or how old their character is? If they say something that is incorrect or stupid, it should be easy enough to spot.
Ive played other MMOs and trust me, ive heard some of the dumbest, immature things coming from older characters/posters.
I don't need a gold star or a silver bar under your portrait to tell if you are a moron or not.

Sadly, no. I come from a large number of elitst forums and find it sickening and stupid. All this would do would be to add a very high degree of elitism. The validity of arguments (such as this very argument) would be obscured by entirely non essential information (arguments). "STFU n00b u onli haff 2 monthz plae tim - i plae 2 yerz so I r smart!!!11".
I do like being able to see which character has the highest SP. That's one way to influence the alt shield without destroying the necessary part of it (see below). Seeing who has the highest SP means being able to determine if someone's fooling you with an alt, though, agreements on the forums are considered binding, so really now that I think of it, it would only promote more elitism. "STFU alt! Onli nUbz post wiej Altz!"
Originally by: Araxmas They should at least enable us to see a players alts. I mean hiding behind an alt on the forum is pointless. So what they can see your main, if what you posted is what you feel than why should you hide from your own opinion.
No. Scamming is a part of Eve. I don't do it (sadly, I don't have the knack or gonads for it), but I compliment those that do it well (because it takes quite a lot of brains, or at the very least more than your target). The alt shield is necessary in this respect because rather than reporting a scam artist directly to friends/corp-mates/hired mercs as people should, people run to the forums screaming "NEVER DEAL WITH X CHARACTER AGAIN! OMG HE SCAMz!" There is no such place to do this in real life (hence why hundreds of people can get scammed by a single person using the same identity), and people can use false identities that can't easily be traced to their real ones. The same should be true in Eve.
That's just one reason the alt shield is necessary. I don't particularly like using alts, but I don't want to see a part of eve nerfed for no apparent reason.
Don't misinterpret this, please. Personally I'd rather see scam artists get what's coming to them (part of the fun of a scam is having repercussions to face if you do it poorly) but not by causing ONE scam to permanently prevent any others with that character (as is what happens now due to the instant forum posting reaction).
