I'm talking about the video/computer game equivalent. EVE Online: Revelations has of course been nominated in the MMO-category. And looking at the lineup
Massively Multiplayer Game of the Year Eve Online: Revelations (CCP Games/CCP Games) Guild Wars: Nightfall (Arena Net/NCsoft) Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach (Turbine/Atari/Wizards of the Coast) Auto Assault (Net Devil/NCsoft)
I daresay the competition isn't too stiff to say the least Sure, Guild Wars might give up a fight, but it's a rehash of the old Guild Wars pretty much. I sincerely hope CCP wins this one, they've earned it.
EDIT: I should of course add who are giving out the awards! It's The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS). Read more about it at http://cube.ign.com/articles/387/387671p1.html EDIT2: My threadname disappeared :(

How could GW and D&DO even get nominated for a MASSIVE Multiplayer award ?
Both games do only allow free interaction within a very limited group of players.

Because people are idiots. Seriously, you're talking about an industry who calls (Edit: Used to be actionish, but now they're getting to the point of being mere interactive movies) games 'roleplaying' (Sorry, clicking yes or no and reading pre-scripted text isn't roleplaying - I'm looking at you, Squaresoft), tactics games 'strategy' (Starcraft? Strategy? Oh dear god..), and that thought Master of Orion III was actually ready to be released.
Et cetera, et cetera.
If games like GW are massively multiplayer, so's every other game that allows you to play over the internet.
