Yep i know, the foolproof contracting, you aint gonna be scammed like escrow has fallen foul of our old friends the SCAMMER.
On a quick inspection for the latest contract its too good to be true deals, i noticed 8 scammers in the 1st page alone. All mineral trading or salvage items, 800 million tritanium for silly amounts ( 12 hour limit ) as a seasoned player triple checking these sales all revealed the sales as 1 unit of minerals or salvage goods.
3 petitions later i was told that as it wasnt breaking the server or seen as harassment, it was upto the player to do their homework.
If a deal looks too good to be true, check, check and CHECK AGAIN, then check again to save yourself major embarassment.
A workaround for our little friends could be cessation of all contracts from that account and/or unable to sell/buy from market for a fixed penalty time limit.
im certainly open to suggestions, as this comes from the GMs as to how this could be looked into.

Its allowed scamming is a lesson you must learn by either committing or being a victim it is also covert piracy so nerfing piracy = bad mkay

I still would like to see them enhance the not issued by to use a list of people (or people on your bad standings or block list).

Nothing wrong with a little scammage using in-game mechanics. You can sit and stare at that contract for hours before you reach out and push the "I'm a chump" button. It's far less dangerous and far less underhanded, in my opinion, than sitting at a gate with a tnaked Hawk and three battleships and maybe a carrier and vaporizing every guy who comes through to feed your alt their cargo.

Well I don't care if there are scams or not, but................
The other day 30% of the contracts I would bet were these crap.
I mean come on either give better filters for contracts or do something about this BS.
I wanted to look for certain Items, but I had pages of stupid 10k Isogen for 5 mil ISK crap.
I know better, but I hate trying to find USEFUL contracts when page after page is scams.
The new system is worse than old for this.
Easy fix is the Title is NOT changable it is the ITEM offered and quantity.
The description (AKA comments) players can say what ever.
Also please add more options for filtering so I can seach for Items I want not have to look through lists of garbage!

Gee, now "It's not our fault. It's yours because you haven't checked enough" is an excuse for bad implementation of a feature?
Come on..
Simple solution: just add that x1 counter to the description and be done with it.
Ok, probably some programmer wanted to do his job too good and thought "hm, if it's just one unit, we don't need a counter", not thinking about possible implications.
Well, I forgive him, but please just get rid of this exception and everything is fine.
I'm sure people do check the contracts. Obviously they don't click with a blindfold on.
So it all comes down to them not knowing the counter thing and bad information politics.
So what's easier - correcting that little programming/design error or making a "how do I not get scammed" tutorial, so everybody knows the facts?
Flawed implementation is flawed implementation. There are no excuses (uhm, obviously there are, but..).
If it were self-explanatory, there wouldn't be so many players falling for such cheap scams.

scammers update........
yep as i hoped some good points made from this post......this isnt intended as a flame on scamming, its more of a way to help those of us who know better.
Suggestions on ways to BETTER the search of contracts, while alerting the buyer to possible bad contracts could help
This wont stop it but could help the genuine buyers from finding those 8 pages of nerfed deals and get on with the buying / selling we all need to do to enjoy OUR game.
I AM NOT griefing scams, just lets try to be more covert on the ways to do it...... 100 mill tritanium at 10mill isk is WAY TOO OBVIOUS, a further post mentioned USE YOUR BRAIN, exactly right, if it looks too good, you havent thought or checked, and you`ll be the loser.
KEEP THOSE IDEAS / SUGGESTIONS COMING.
