did CCP change something in context of recloaking delay???? I remember travelling in a bomber was a lot easier, after gate jump you could basically insta recloak and warp off. Now you gotta wait 5-6 seconds until cloak cooldown ticks off... Is it just me or did someone else realize a |

That's always been there, hasn't it? When did CovOps Cloaks not have a short delay?
Still a lot better than -75 or more speed nerf, thirty second reactivation delay, and no cloak warping. Just saying.

I gate jump, insta cloak and warp as usual. No delay after jump. In a hound right now.

just to make clear, I mean not gate jump uncloaked right? Warp to gate cloaked, get decloaked by gate, jump, on the other side is now a delay of few seconds for cloaking again, which is used not to be there t hat long.

I cant confirm session changes (gate jumps) become quicker but maybe the timer starts later now, which is incredibly annoying btw. |

15 seconds of Googling reveals it has been that way since at least 2009, likely longer.

ok then I'm just rtarded, was just wondering why the cloak needs that long, after flying bombers for like 7 years feels like there is suddenly a difference. |

cant rule that out, even if session changes dont feel quicker, in contrary sometimes gatejumps take an eternity. |

It is more than likely this. Stealth bombers cloak reactivation delay is reduced to only 15 seconds. If you decloak, activate jump, jump, load grid and move your ship within that 15 second window you will not be able to reactivate your cloak. Wait until the dial ticks down on your cloak then move/warp (even though that dial on the cloak is sometimes broken -_-). |

Actually, there was a change. But it was not widely noticed. Reactivation Delay Timers are now preserved through session changes. You really only notice this on a stealth bomber because of the long recloak delay.

I've noticed this in a covops also. I didn't realize that they changed the timers to carry through session changes, though.

I'm thinking the recloak timer got put in the brain in a box. So you either picture the BIB going through the gate w/ you or you picture it as a detached object handler in another routine - it's still counting down while you pass through the gate. Pausing BIB during sessions changes would defeat it's purpose. I like to picture it as the BIB goes with you through the gate and keeps working as evidenced by your recloak delay counting down as you pass through the intersystem colon.
A way to rationalize it would be to hold the recloak timer constant (which it is) and put it in the BIB. Take a lot of session change garbage and also put it in BIB so that the session change doesn't have to deal with it (pass it on to the new session). Now with less to do (because BIB) the session change gets shorter.
So you warp to a gate cloaked. You land on it. You get decloaked by proximity (recloak timer and session change both start), (elevator music and gastric scenery while the session change happens), session change is done (much quicker than before) but recloak hasn't timed out yet.
The good news is, if you do absolutely nothing, the post session change timer will keep you safe until after the recloak timer ends.
If I were to guess, a session change used to just plain reset anything to do with a recloaking timer (and pretty much everything else), so it never came up. Now that it's in the BIB you get to watch it count down (visual circle thing on the module icon) to pull your eyes off the colon ride to the next system.
Either way, just hold session change invulnerability (don't touch nothing) until your cloak module indicates it's ready to go. |
