[1] I just had this idea for an event that could be hosted by either a medium sized or bigger corp or of course CCP them selves. Since i'm just a relative n00b in a small corp i donŠt have the resources to host an event on this scale. Don't know if anyone has had this idea before but here it goes...  )Basically it's an interstellar space race. It could be a promotional event for a company (advertisement). The party holding the race could advertise it a few weeks in advance (both on the forums as well as in the game) and there could be a web-page for contestants to sign up then they would receive information via EVE-mail or E-mail on where the race starts and where it finishes (to avoid non-contestans players to rush into the systems where the starting and finishing stations are and cause massice lag) and anything else they would need to know. The Rules could be that there are no rules, that is, contestants could have their buddies try to kill the other players etc. making it a sort of a Wacky Racers...in space as well as making the race more exciting. Rewards could either be in the form of ISK or valuable items which the race holder could chip in or there could be an entry fee of... let's say 10 million ISK and the corp holding the race could take half and the winner will have the rest. Also, the corp holding the race could have their members take places at the jumpgates on the way (if it's a short race) and tell everybody in a chat room dedicated to the race which players are in the lead etc. I think this could be an interesting event to both participate in and to hold. [7] yup, we've had races before.. they're obviously a bit time consuming to set up, which is why we probably don't see more of em :(. Unfortunatly I don't think you're going to get anyone else to set it up for you - probably because everyone else wants to be a racer and not an organiser :) Well, if you do decide to set one up read this tread on the last race.. might give you some ideas about how to do it ;) --- 3D |
