This is the best choice for a DPS based Amarr battleship, clearly, that should be cheap and expendable. Dual Heavy Pulse Vs. Mega Pulse *no skills* DHP has 1000 less power grid cost DHP has 10 less CPU cost DHP has 2x Damage, where MP has 3x DHP has 6.08, MP has a RoF of 7.88 DHP has an optimal of 18, MP has an optimal of 20 DHP has an accuracy falloff of 6000, where MP has an accuracy falloff of 8000 DHP has an activation cost of 25, whereas MP has an activation cost of 40 DHP has a tracking speed of 0.03, MP has a tracking speed of 0.027
DHP is cheaper, faster, and best used in scenarios when you can control your range, correct?
For medium slots, the choices are: warp scrambler cap booster sensor booster web Honestly, I'd think that you wouldn't want to use a web, especially if you use sensor boosters. Sensor boosters will also help at all ranges, though web is good at stopping those pesky orbiting ships or people trying to make a run for a warp gate. So, you're definitely going to fit a scrambler, and most likely not a web. Would you fit a cap booster? Most of the setups I've seen are 2x Sensor Booster 1x Warp Scrambler.
Low, I'm really unsure about these and need help! 2x Heat Sinks are set in stone 1x LAR is all that is needed for a DPS ship not designed to tank forever 1x 1600mm Plate is ideal if you can't repair that well 1x Damage Control? EANM? Hardeners? Will you need a co-pro?
Criticize, revise, and idealize, please. I've never flown an Armageddon at all, though I've been flying Amarr ships my entire existence. Never really tried for pure DPS with minimal tank.

DHP does 17% less damage than Mega Pulse. So no point in using them with full gank setup. They do have their uses though, especially in those cheap fits.
Looks like low-tier lasers are pretty bad deals compared to low tier blasters, though both low-tier blasters and lasers both look bad compared to low tier autocannons.

If you want Gankageddon DPS on the cheap, try this:
7x Mega Pulse 1x Medium Nos
2x Sensor Booster 1x Warp Disruptor
1x Large Armor Rep 2x 1600mm plates 2x Energized Adaptive Nano 3x Heat Sink
4x Heavy Drones 5x Warrior drones for anti-frig
The only stuff that needs to be T2 is the heatsinks. Everything else is T1, named to fit.
Even a noob can make an awesome contribution to a BS gang in this, and they can always drop the medium nos if their fitting skills aren't quite up to scratch. Cheap loss too, 20-30m of which most is the insurance.

You'd run out of cap before you could kill anything.

I'd appreciate if you're going to say that setups suck that you offer a solution to the flaw. What do you drop for cap mods?

this is not a gankgeddon
try something like this:
7x mega pulse II
2x SB II, cap recharger II
3-4x HS II, DCU II, med rep, 1600mm plate, 1-2EANM II
that's a gankgeddon

Unlikely.
Firstly because with decent cap skills, a Gankageddon can keep firing for a good couple of minutes without an injector. Secondly because that rep will be running after the fight, not during the fight. Thirdly because only a noob flies a Gankageddon alone, and the target would have to tank several other battleships. Fourthly if you bring nos into this, you will find that most battleships will also run out of cap before killing anything.
The Armageddon is a damage dealer for close-range gangs. The only way it is going to run out of cap before killing anything, is if the pilot tries solo BS PVP with three mids and a T1 setup.

I've seen successful setups without a repairer at all. How many heat sinks does it take before the bonus is useless? Your statement is naught but truth. 3 mid slots shouldn't try to solo another ship. I've honestly never seen a geddon survive in PVP without a gang... My intended use is with 3+ other people, and alternately to jump in and help with gate camps occasionally as a secondary purpose.

Just replace one of the EANMs with a CPR. If you're really desperate for cap, replace a 1600mm with an additional CPR or a mid-slot module with a cap recharger or injector.

If your using it in a gang (which you should be by the way) just fit for range with MP II. Leaves you in a nice safety zone where you are free to warp away and gives a nice 940dps (with drones... if they get there in time )
High's 7 MP II 1 Medium NOS (what else am I going to fit.....)
Mid's 2 Sensor Booster II 1 Personal Preferance (Cap Booster OR another Booster / Ewar)
Low's 3 Heat Sink II 3 Tracking Enhancer II 1 EAN II 1 Damage Controll
Optimal range of 63km
Zomg fight in <20km and tank cretin ? Why the **** would I do that, Amarr do best at mid range... so fight there. If I wanted to be up close i'd go Gallanete.

If you aren't going to use a repairer, it's probably true that plates>resists. You only go through the armor once without a repairer, and in the long run, +15% to your armor resists won't help as much as +33+% armor.

You'd need to drop the damage control for a RCU to fit the plate. The Dmg controll + EANII works out as better than a single 1600mm... In my silly little mind anway Could be wrong lol

Max skills you can get a bit over 1020 [idealized]. The Key is "with drones, if they get there".
I prefer lowering this idealized number to around 900-950 and using explosive sentry drones instead of tech 2 heavies. Gives you a bit of damage type spread[218 max damage with the gardes] and the damage gets there instantly instead of at 1500m/s or whatever your heavies are traveling at.
That guy, with sentries would probably be doing around 850 DPS if he were using sentries. Still impressive at 40-48km. ---------------------------------------- Thou Shalt "Pew Pew" |

Idealized damage:[approximate, numbers are rounded and heat sinks are estimated as a whole, rounding down, instead of calcing each bonus individualy. All skills maxed, no implants]
Ogre II: 316[475/1.5 is the easy way]
HP II Scorch : 722[3.6/7.88 x 1.25 x 1.15 x 1.1 /.9 /.75 /.75 x 44 x 7 x 1.229 x 1.19 x 1.124]
Total: 1038
OR
Garde I: 218 [50/4 x 2 x 1.25 x 5 x 1.4]
HP II Scorch: 722
Total: 940
I prefer the sentry drone route, because you arent going to move in your gankageddon anyway, and if you do move, it wont be much. You also dont have a web, so the ogres wont be killing anything small that gets close. You do slightly less damage, but your drones are cheap, do explosive damage instead of thermal, giving you a bit of damage spread, and your damage has no travel time.
That is an aweful lot, its why the geddon is the best amarran battleship, and only one really worth buying for pvp. ---------------------------------------- Thou Shalt "Pew Pew" |

I did say with drones. It's 682 raw dps without using MPII / Scorch.
Still a nice amount of dps from 60km !

Just blow your ship up right now. You have worse tracking than medium sized beam lasers[by about 2.5 times due to signature radius], you want to be far away not close. And using an MWD to stay far away means you no longer have cap to shoot. ---------------------------------------- Thou Shalt "Pew Pew" |
