Hi there everyone, I was wondering what in terms of DPS, tank, and speed is really the best ship in all of eve? and if so what's the fit? what can it handle? I hope people from all over the cluster reply so I can get different views from different people. |

There isnt one. Ships have roles. Some are good at some things some are good at others. The best ship in eve is the one that suits your playstyle.

I hate minmatar ship designs but my god, this thrasher; best ship in eve. Only the Astero comes in as a close second best ship in eve. |

Actually, if you really want to consider all 3 - DPS, tank and speed - then I would look at it this way:
DPS - Needs to be able to kill the smallest ships while also provide significant hits for higher EHP's. This sort of limits our choice in the BC and Bship range since they can fit neuts + drones to deal with smaller stuff while being able to apply full DPS on bigger targets.
Tank - Following up on above, Bships win over BC.
Speed - Bship's higher EHP means their fits can be tweaked for more tank or speed, depending on the need. There is a video on YouTube where someone gets some dank kills using a warp-speed rigged Geddon, pretty neat.
Now, considering all of the above, which battleship then? Well, from my experience, most of them suffer from tracking issues except the ones using drones. Also, drones allow more neut power without sacrificing DPS. The obvious choice seems to be the Geddon - but it isn't. Geddon screams "I have neuts, come at me", whereas the Dominix can sport better tank and "play dumb" such as warping-in using autopilot.
So to answer your question, which basically asks to meld together 3 attributes often opposite from each other, you get the king of flexibility, the Dominix.
You won't find a fit for it though, since there is one for almost every situation. You have the solo Domi, the fleet Domi, the armor Domi, the shield Domi, the RR Domi, the neut Domi, the DPS Domi and everything in between. Don't forget the combat scanner Domi but I wouldn't get into it right now. |

Although I hate it by now, my most flown ship and probably best ship and the ship that I've 'done' the most in and what not is probably one of the 27 Ishtars I had at one point. |

As you can see, lots of people have lots of different answers. There's a reason for that.
There is no 'best ship', there is only the one that suits you and your playstyle the best, for whatever task you intend it to do.
Personally, I pvp a lot so I find myself preferring to be as versatile as possible. I need to be able to counter on the fly and I like being unpredictable. To accomplish that, I've cross-trained into all races and can fly a vast array of ships, depending on what I need at any given time for any given purpose.
But in this game, there is no such thing as any one ship that does everything better than anything else. Everything has a counter, and no, bigger =/= better.

Just like more people said already, there is no such thing as a 'best ship'. I do think however that the Vexor is a good ship to get some experience with before trying your own fits. Once you know the pittfalls, you can build from that point on.

I love the Thrasher, and I love the redesign art I've seen. The new model for it really reminds me of a true military unit-- form meeting function, not unlike the contemporary littoral combat ships. The old Thrasher was just fine, however-- not sure how redesigning it was high on anyone's list. *cough cough Rupture cough*

I was gonna say this.
I was lucky enough to have gotten 3 of them as gifts.
For High Sec exploration and Lvl II's, III's, and some IV's, this is probably the best bang for buck you can get. I've made about 6b over the course of time with mine. When going cloaky Tengu in Low/Null Sec isn't paying off, I'll roam the Gnosis in High Sec. |

The Answer is always Machariel. Physically as big as a Carrier (though it still fits in one lol), maneuvers like a Cruiser, hits like a Dread, warps like a Battlecruiser. All you gotta add is 'stings like a bee' and it's the Ali of ships.

Amarr ships are the best looking ships in Eve, the Absolution for example is gorgeous. But i must say Caldari - Caracal/Cerbs/Scorpions are probably a close second.
On ship Vexor Navy issue is nice, Garmurs fitted properly are decent too. Depends what you want to kill tbh. The T3 Destroyers are decent too |

Worm and Garmur get my vote - obviously not when it comes to pure numbers for DPS/Tank/Velocity - but they're pretty damn strong (and downright overpowered with links). |

Its just relative. There is no best ship. People have different opinions so the best ship is the one that you are able to handle the best. |

It all depends on exactly what you plan to use your ship for.
If you are after exploration in dangerous areas with dangerous rats and also dangerous capsuleers you generally want to fly an Astero or a Stratios due to their bonuses to exploration without gimping defense and offense.
If you are generally a solo privateer and you are strapped for cash you will probably prefer to fly a Minmatar ship due to the speed, agility, and versatility of their hulls. And you are unlikely to fly anything larger than a Battlecruiser (btw, my favourite ship to fly is a Breacher. She's pretty cheap, hits just less hard than an Incursus at ranges within 10km, tanks lots of damage and is fast enough to outpace any non-navy, non-pirate and non-Minmatar frigate in scram range).
If you aren't strapped for cash you probably will either pick a Daredevil for their amazing close range dps and the ability to make anything within 10km dead in the water, a Worm for being generally cancer (huge tank, huge drone DPS. Get the DPS of six drones with only three drones!), a Hawk for being a beefier but less versatile Breacher (also cancer), a Vengeance for their hilarious amount of survivability while being a more tempting target than a Hawk.
If you operate out in nullsec and catching and killing things by yourself is your order of the day you probably want a Sabre.
If you do high level exploration in dangerous space like wormholes you likely prefer either a Tengu or a Loki, Tengu for their very strong tank and long range damage application, Loki for being faster and more DPS in general.
Etc etc etc.
So in conclusion, best ship is what fits in your budget range that suits whatever it was you plan to do.
A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

One thing to note: The more powerful the ship the more likely it is to either be blobbed or alphaed.
So before you open your wallet to buy the best possible ship in its class you gotta be ready to deal with the very high likelihood of being blobbed or alphaed and fit accordingly.
