Ok, I want to kill guristas, has anyone tested these 2 drone types against them? Guristas have less kin resists, but it's only by 10% and Ogre has higher damage multiplier, wasp are faster and have better tracking tho, but I wanna kill Bs's. Anyone have an idea on the diferences between damages on these 2 drones?

WASP II.
Better tracking, faster, more shields, racial damage. It's great being Amarr, aint it? |

Question is will the speed anull the tracking cos if so the ogre II wil do more damage cos the damage multiplier is bigger then the diference between thermic and kinetic resists.

You're kinda right on the 'higher speed will lower the chances of better hits' on the wasps, but it's not by that much. Then again like you say the resistance difference is very small too.
The damage multiplier is quite a bit better on the ogre, but having more shields and being faster between targets is always useful for your overall dps and drone survivability.
I'd probably go for ogre's because every decent hit will do enough dmg to negate the resistance difference, and every perfect/excellent hit will be more than wasps, but you could in this case just go with the cheapest one
All the stuff above does not necessarily reflect my corp, my alliance or even me.. Drone guide.. |

Edited by: Kehmor on 29/01/2007 00:03:29 actually to be honest I'd go with ogres. If you are right about resistance and damage is right then you might aswell be using a damage type that player pirates might not be expecting.

Then again Ogres IIs are alot more expensive and much more painful to lose to rats than a Wasp II. ------ ------

Wasps, that resistance difference starts to get very significant with high end rats.

1.6 * 0.4 = 0.64
1.45 * 0.5 = 0.725
against high-end rats the wasps do quite a bit more DPS and move faster.
