Using a passive shield tanked raven with only around 100k in shield skills and non-named tech I fittings i managed to tank them for about 4-5 minutes. Now I would like to know how long you can tank sentries. Please non-named tech I fittings only! ---------------------------

You can't do anything very well with basic tech 1 fittings.

The idea is for newer people to not be completely outclassed by skill points. So that it more comes down to the kind of mods you fit and how you use them without isk and sp being to much of a factor. ---------------------------

As far as something like tanking sentries, money and SP are a rather large factor =/ -----

AFAIK, anyone can start thinking about tanking as long a they have Hull Upgrades skill- get that, and you can use some of the armour hardening stuffs.
I got my sig snipped again. Can someone make me a new one? |

Also, remember noobs, that to get sentry agression, you have to lose some of your sec status, so be weary in attempting such a pointless test, with tech I mods when there is a mathematically approximation you could make as to the maximum tank of a ship with tech I fittings using Quickfit. ---------------------- Nubtard |

I think a t1 maelstrom with t1 cap rigs is your best bet. But that still ends up being an expensive ship.

Anyways, 4-5 minutes is damn good. Was that with drones out to split the damage? What security status was the system (not sure if that matters).
When I tank in a domi I go for about a 'hauler kill's worth of time' then have to bugger out cause of my cap. Passive would be nice.
Now go fit up so that you could actually catch and kill someone. 2 sensor boosters (Ouch my shield tank) a warp disruptor (OUCH! My shield tank!) and most likely a MWD (No more shield tank!).
...Try that, then tell me how ya do in that Raven k? ~~~~~~~~~ Hey Gai. Bak Off Coz Ai Bang Yu Hawd. K Gai? |

Also, never jump into highsec when you have that red aggression timer called a Global. ~~~~~~~~~ Hey Gai. Bak Off Coz Ai Bang Yu Hawd. K Gai? |

Dual repper abaddon got no problems at all. You will need nice named repairer but they are below 1M so no problem at all.

I tank them 24/7, even when the server's offline.
Avg. dps per sentry is 160, do the math.

Edited by: Nicholai Pestot on 30/01/2007 15:09:57 In a myrm/brutix probably about 2 or 3 minutes with a dedicated setup. Longer if I'm allowed the luxury of rigs/tech II gear.
I have never reached my limit in a battleship so i don't know (though to be fair i have never run a purely tech I battleship)
