I love assault frigates, and when they added more launcher slots to the hawk, I bought one. I was hoping to finally have the missile AS I've been waiting for as a Caldari.
I have a setup that works great in gangs, but I'm struggling to find something that works for solo pvp. has anyone had any luck with solo pvp in a hawk? does anyone have any suggestions for fittings or tactics?
I can fly all 4 race's AS, so i know the hawk is never going to be the best, but i would hope it could at least be a capable fighter, especially considering it's built in survivability.

@#$% this thing's CPU. I wonder what the devs were thinking when they were testing this, and how they were fitting them during their tests... |

Caldari arent the best solo'ers due to their tank being in their mid slots.Just stick in a gang or grab 1 of the other Race's AF's for solo work IMO

Highs:
4 x Rocketlauncher II
1 x Small diminishing power systems drain
Meds:
Gistii A-type small shield booster
Gistii A-type 1MN afterburner
1 x 7,5km scrambler
1 x Dread Guristas EM-harderner
Lows:
1 x BCU II
1 x PDU II
It works like a charm, even killed a Raven with it once.
Everyting runs at once, it's PvP in easymode

Yeah, I've become quite aware of that situation as i focus more time towards pvp. I've grown a Gallente alt to supplement my force, but I'd like to find some use of a solo Caldari besides mission running.

I don't have much interest in fitting frigates with faction gear, but i dont doubt that it may be necessary to create a viable platform to solo pvp in a Hawk.
P.S. - sorry for posting with my alt up there. seems to be the main on forum settings, and i havnt logged her in in months. guess i ought to toss her in the reprocessor for her insolence.

That happend a couple of times, luckily the cap recharge is so damn fast that I always have a little to play with, enough for one AB-cykle for a hasty escape if it's necessary...(The NOS helps too)
Also, pick your targets. Don't engage 'known' NOS boats...

That makes sense. But even still, so many people fit nos on EVERYTHING nowadays. I suppose you are correct that u can get at least one good cycle out of the a/b, and hopefully warp away. You wont see me gambling like that with a faction modded t2 frigate until i own a t2 bpo to earn enough iskies to continously replace them... Weirda had a good thread on nos rebalancing, and that would fix this upo real good, but until then, frig vs anything battles are still super "iffy"
