When referring friends from other games on Mobile or console it's important to explain clearly what they need. Unfortunately the specs for graphics cards are vague because there are so many GPUs. It really is not useful beyond the one card mentioned in the specs for most people. It would be very helpful if there was a tool or place where you could see example systems and see what other players thought about their experience using it, and where you could search for systems for sale that can run eve. Is there a good place for further information about this? Perhaps a place that rates PC's and mac's for gaming in general would be a good place to refer people. |

There's this site: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri
Although I wouldn't rely on it alone. When configuring your own PC, you will need either a bit of experience or help. Fortunately, Eve is not very demanding, so building a System that can run it should not take much. |

I've run multiple clients of EVE simultaneously in a several year old, off the shelf laptop. I would be very surprised to find any modern computer that couldn't run it on lower graphics settings. |

If your system can't play eve then you have no business gaming on it. |

Right now I'm on my ultrabook which are not known for great graphics cards. It has an intel 4000, or is it 4400 chip. I can actually play at full settings, but ultrabooks aren't built to dissipate that much heat. So it's a bad idea. However, I can play just fine in performance mode.
Of course this is not my gaming computer, but I have logged in from work on this computer and flown around.
So yea, I think any semi-modern computer should be able to handle eve, if not with full graphics, then at least in performance mode. DX7 I think is minimum, or is it DX9?
My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Helpdesk Article: System Requirements
Though DirectX 9.0c (Windows XP era) is a minimum, it really should be DirectX 11. |

You can google "graphics charts" or "vga charts" and get quite a few hits.
Tom's Hardware has charts for sure, and also review articles, and quite a bit of ad spam. Anandtech has higher quality reviews and articles. Guru3D has reviews and charts.
EDIT: "charts" = performance comparison bar charts, so you can tell at a glance which graphics is better than the requirements |
