Is there still no way for a player to anchor a POS for themself? I want to anchor a POS in empire but being in a corp kills my standings and makes my connections skill not apply.... If there isn't a way..
FFS CCP CAN WE HAVE ONE??!!

create your own 1-man corp and wait for ur corp's standings to be high enough to anchor.

I did that... Problem is that I couldn't stand to do another single mission without going completely apes... If CCP introduced the feature of anchoring POS' for self, then Connections skill would apply. More people would anchor in empire and use that wonderful new feature... As is right now.. Connections skill in no way allows / helps you anchor in empire and that leaves empire POS' to mission grinders and solo/mission corps... Really I think it would be great to have an anchor for self option!

I definately agree. If you check out my other thread like one down. I'm working out what it takes to moonmine on basics. It basically is leaving me with needing the largest tower to do it. Which begs the question... if you need the largest tower to do minimal moonmining. Simply because the reactor is 1500cpu on it's own. It's absolutely crazy.
I'm now thinking of doing what you are doing. Research small pos. Now my corp definately doesn't have the collective standing to do it like you. The fix for this is to create your 1man corp and it takes like 5 days or something to get your rating up. However 1.3 patch there supposedly fixed that so it's instant. Anchor and then you can have people join you and you can drop down to like -3 standing afterwards and still keep the tower there.
Now sure if you could merge or rejoin your last corp after anchoring the tower. Also the tower is the only thing that needs to be done. You can have horrible standing and anchor and unanchor the other stuff. The tower I believe I red that can be put offline and then back online. Which even if you neglect it and let it die. It'll always be there until you unanchor it.
So personally i'd do .5 sec small tower. 2 labs and 1 corp hangar. roughly 300mil.
I'm not sure if you're allowed to have turrets. Even if you did I'm not sure if you can even use them. I'm sure you can put them online, but if you're ganking any newb which flies to your pos. It might cause problems for you with concord coming to gank you for aggression. but then if you're only setting it to attack war targets and aggressors. What's the point really... because cocord would gank those 2 groups also. I also suspect that they couldn't do 10mil dmg in like 10 seconds before concord were to kill them.

To the OP:
What I recomend is that you create a research alt and a corp with that alt. As a new alt, it will have no standings with anybody so it wont affect the standings calculations. Go on temporary leave from your corp and join your alt's corp. Do one storyline (16 courrier missions could be done in 2 or 3 hours even afk). You can even do level 1 missions and get a level 1 storyline for all I know. Wait till the standings go up, anchor the tower/modules with your main and return to your main corp.
This will leave the alt running the whole research (if research is what you want to do). Believe me, it's handy to have an alt sitting near the tower at all times. The BPO's will be ultra safe. You won't have to travel with your main to haul the fuel. It will be great. |
