Imagine a world without pirates, a world where we could all mine veldspar all day long, commenting on our wolly coats and wondering which faberic softer your carebear m8 uses
A world where you can forget insurance, and never die, immortality for all.
A world where you can nurture and cheerish your prized possessions - a forum where flaming is an uncommon word. we could all remove our guns and go play in the mines -download a few macros, upload mining tactics.
Im sure after reading this post there are many a pirate with a tear in thier eye, realising the error in thier ways - just seeing through the tears a hope of a peaceful existance within a caring, loving community of like minded players.
Failing this blow the hell out of em!

RL is out there. Take a walk. Go to a movie. Spend time with your family. FFS, go out and pick up at a bar, I don't care.
Do something other than waste your time and ours actually MAKING an alt strictly for forum goofiness.

On the surface, this sounds like a wonderful idea. I have lost many a ship to pirates, and I have a few player kills myself.
When I get warp scrambled and someone is demanding ransom for my ship I completely agree with a pirate free world...
... But imagine this:
A player mines his heart out and buys the most powerfull ship and the most powerful mods... then, because there is nothing else to do but mine more, they grow bored with the game and quit playing.
The same player, in a violent world, always has a reason to play. -He can keep playing to replace the items he's constantly losing to player fights and pirate traps. -He can keep working to build up the strength of his fleet/corp to defend themselves against pirates. -He can even fight to rid the world of pirates.
In a marketable economy, nothing has value if everything introduced to the market lasts forever. For a healthy and profitably market, most, if not all, goods should be degradable and replinishable. If no one ever lost ships, the ship builder would eventually have no job, and his source of minerals would have no one to which to sell their minerals.
Supply and demand would force the price of Megacyte down to 1000 ISK each.
Imagine the trade channel "WTS 10mil Trit - 1000 ISK OBO"

The carebears would compare their ore piles. That's all they'd have left to do.
Keep on flaming, lamers.

Hmmm.... Diesel alt post? Possible. But too well written and not enough "foul language". Tank post? Nah. Hes managing stations right now and has no time for forums. More then likely someone from SI. Sounds like Viceroy. Not too sure on it being written by him. Zap's clone? Maybe, just maybe. Any bets on who the bored rat is?

Edited by: Darrin Tobruk on 12/12/2003 01:21:50 Well it's certainly not Mongo Peck. It's to long and well written. Although it is along the same lines as the garbage he likes to post here when he has nothing to do...
