Youch! I can afford it, but still. That's one expensive ship, just to have a higher rate of fire and some slightly extra damage tech 2 ammunition. I can't use tech 1 missile launchers for the advanced heavy missiles, can I?
I'm in the process of training Heavy Missiles 5 right now just to use these, but I'm not so sure. Most of the time I speed through Level 3 missions for Loyalty Point grinding.
Anyway, I heard something about "invention". How does this work? What skills do I need? Can I actually construct this stuff myself? Thanks very much!

Yap. I bought some a while back for 4 million, but all the missioin runners are so damn rich they can afford the high prices (Since you seldom will lose a ship).
Ya... well, just another reason why Caldari will never be a pvp race.
...Cause you can't afford to lose a pvp Battlecruiser that cost you 50m and another 170m to FIT! ~~~~~~~~~ Hey Gai. Bak Off Coz Ai Bang Yu Hawd. K Gai? |

Whats annoying is that the top end modules were collapsing in price.
Now i suspect the trend to reverse again over the next 2 weeks.
Invul Field II were 25 mil not long ago, now they have dropped to 19 to 15 in the space of a week.
HM launcher II dropped from 12 to 9 this week.
The old Invention system was starting to take bite and hurting the Tech 2 BPO owners.
However now invention is nerfed again they will get their prices back up again.
Or at least for another few months until the Exploration datacores flood the market and the prices are pushed down to the 5 mil area.
Off course for 5 mil isk i wont be cashing in my RP points so we have a problem of lack of constant supply and Invention runs are now down in their 10's to 20's with the success rate being the same as pre patch.
Its not going to work.

Runs pre patch were probably to high, if you pushed your luck you could get a 90 run HVML II BPC
see costings above.
After patch same setup - 11 run !!!
11 x 9 mil = 100mil
The cost of datacores is more than that, ok if you were guaranteed 100% success this would be less an issue but with best skills its estimated best chance is 50% (at 100% you could break even with maybe a tiny profit).
I was getting 35% area.
So its not 4 datacores per run but 12, average datacore price is 15mil to 35mil.
At 11 runs the cost of the Decrypters looks out of wack as well at 6mil, and taking the top end tech 1 item at 10mil also eats into the profits (or at the moment increased loss)
Add to that is what a RP agent thinks his RP points are worth.
To me 15-20mil was a fair price for his RP points.
With the new setup i couldnt afford to buy datacores of him for more than 5-10 mil, depending if i wanted to make a profit.
I wouldnt give up my Research points for 5 mil .

Drake+Caracal+Cerberus+mission runner = tech 2 heavy launchers go mad.
Fairly predictable, should have stocked up a couple dozen pre-revelations.

Drake, Nighthawk, Cerberus, Curse.
4 reasons which are more than enough to explain the cost of HML IIs.
3 of those ships are nothing short of uber for missions. I know my T2-only NH can do lvl 4s at a decent speed, and no lvl 4 mission can break my passive tank unless I draw full aggro on purpose, even then, only a few full aggro places could break it.

Don't forget the NH, the cerb and Drake can't compete with it for tank or DPS. Cerb has the mobility and range, but that's it.
Altho it's a painful few months of training for the ship.

425mm Autocannons have also been getting to some absurd prices, especially the Scouts.

What's even more amazing it that people will pay these prices for T2 modules, then come here and whine about how expensive they are.
To buy or not is a choice. You don't have to make another player rich paying for overpriced equipment.
T1 still works with far more bang for the buck.

There have been many occasions lately that I have seen the good named T1 stuff sell for MORE than the T2. The lower end stuff is pretty cheap, especially the manufactured, but the good T1 stuff is very scarce in some regions. So it's not like there is a lot of choice sometimes, either you pay the iskies or you fit a different weapon type.
I suspect that it's because of a combination of factors on that. One is that less people can use the T2, second is that less people are working at filling the holes in the T1 market. After all, how many people actually go looking for cruiser sized rats to get the loot if they can go after battleships and get much better profit for their time. Then you have to figure in the fact that loot drops are racial specific, and only certain areas even have the Arbalast heavy missles and scout autocannons to go after.

If you think they are too expensive, don't buy them, kill the people who do and then laugh.
It's what I do, T2 fitted BS being cheaper than T2 fitted BC ftw :)

Well maybe not HML's, more T2 cruiser mods in general, The price of 425's are close to 10mil, and 220's are 6-7mil. These are common kits as well, and it's not like it's a challenge to kill one in a T1 fitted ACpest :p

Agreed. I sold the ones I had for more than I'd be able to make with them, and that was after in-alliance discount.
Even the XR-3200s are going for insane prices in my region now. 2.7M?!
